February 28, 200818 yr I've noticed many of you haven't read the thread title correctly. I, however, will not include any solo artists on my list. A solo artist is not a band. I would, however, love to see another thread where folks could count off their favorite solo artists. That includes solo artists and their backing bands (Springsteen and E Street, Petty and The Heartbreakers, for example). Anyway, here goes: Tops: The Who Pearl Jam Others: Velvet Underground Afghan Whigs The Stooges Queen Cracker CSNY Thin Lizzy Black Sabbath The Doors Pavement Guided By Voices V-Roys Rolling Stones The Replacements The Beatles The Eagles Led Zeppelin Drive-By Truckers North Mississippi All-Stars Lynyrd Skynyrd The Flaming Lips Wilco Allman Bros. Parliament/Funkadelic Jason and The Nashville Scorchers The Clash REM (pre-"Monster") U2 (pre-"Pop") Van Halen (pre-Hagar) Fleetwood Mac The Cure Uncle Tupelo I'm sure there are others I'm forgetting.
