February 22, 200818 yr With college football over for the year. I thought this would be a good time to post information about college football programs. This will be a good opportunity to visit some program sites that many may not normally visit, and read information about these programs. This is also a good resource for players, or the parents of players, who may be interested in playing college football. College: Campbellsville University Nickname: Tigers Division: NAIA Conference: Mid-South Conference Location: Campbellsville, KY Head Coach: Perry Thomas Roster: http://www.campbellsvilletigers.com/roster/5/12.php Website: http://www.campbellsvilletigers.com/sport/5/12.php Schedule: http://www.campbellsvilletigers.com/schedule/5/12.php

As a University, students and faculty. From what I hear it is a very good academic school that takes time with their students and works with them. IMO there are a lot of up sides to a small university.
February 23, 200818 yr My son is in his first year there and is having a great time. I don' t know how many times we have drove there in the past year. Their football field surprised me, need lots of upgrades. There are four kids from Bama on the roster. My uncle and aunt do a sunday morning radio show on 1450. Starts at 8:30 AM. My wife and I will be on the program this spring. They have a Grandson (second cousin) who will start at QB for Campbellsville High.
February 23, 200818 yr Just wondering if the former CovCath starting QB/P Josh Blesser, who guided the Colonels to the State Championship in 2006, will be trying out for the QB position at Campbellsville this upcoming season? Of course the Baseball Coach just might have a thing to say about it, but?

March 14, 200818 yr They signed a kid from Franklin County that quit his senior year before school even started. I would not think that this is a good thing or a way to build a program, maybe invite him to walk on or something but actually signing him? What do you guys think.

Don't know anything about the young man. I do know the coaching change has caused recruiting problems, due to the fact of how late it occured. I'm guessing the new coach is trying everything he can to get players.
March 16, 200818 yr Well it probably won't leave much of an impression on young men from that high school in the future.
March 16, 200818 yr So are you saying kids don't deserve another chance? If you quit as a senior you shouldn't try and play college football? Maybe it shouldn't be a knock on a college coach for giving a kid a second chance.

Although I don't like to see any kid quit, there may have been circumstances occur that forced him to make the decision not to play his Sr. year. I say hats off to the college coach for giving him the chance to play at the next level and receive a quality education while doing so. I hope it works out for both parties involved.

Maybe it shouldn't be a knock on a college coach for giving a kid a second chance. Not saying the kid don't need a second chance. I personally like the kid and think he is a pretty good kid, however, this thread is about CU and I was wanting some opinions and what everyone thought about them signing someone in this manner.
