UK Walk-on Dusty Mills kicked off team

Featured Replies

Criticizing them for doing something wrong is fine. BCG shouldn't cuss at his players and Sampson shouldn't have broken 5 major rules. We agree on that I think. But talking about them like they are the same situation is completely unfair.

Like I said, I dont think whatsoever the two situations are remotely equal in wrong-ness (). However, they still are both wrong.

I said they were wrong too. But they shouldn't be compared to each other.

Its about time someone replied about that! Dusty looks like a 6th grader.

By that picture both should have been cut! :D

If somebody criticizes somebody for doing something wrong, that is 100% O.K. However, if another person criticizes someone that Person #1 supports, and Person #1 takes offense to it, that's being very hypocritical. Agree?

The difference is that I disagree that it was wrong in the first place.

I am not going to read the 5 page discussion that is already going on OVER A WALK ON, so I will just state my opinion. I dont see how this is a big deal at all, honestly. The kid was a walk on and sounds like he deserved it. Billy has got the likes of Ramel and Joe to buy into his system on the basketball court, could this walk on not buy into showing a little respect for a teammate? I would be embarrased if I was caught laughing on the bench during a blowout loss. Apparently this kid doesn't really care too much about the team anyways.

Of course though, it looks like some will bash Billy over something so marginal when they dont even know the opposing side of the story. It would be dumb on BG's part to come out and talk about this. It would only be a distraction that this team does not need.

I would tend to stay neutral and wait until we hear more facts on this issue. But I will assure you there is more to know about it, and if you think that coaches don't yell at college players in a negative way at times you could be mistaken.

Like to hear everyone's opinion on this one.

Here's mine...

I don't care. He was a walk-on. One paragraph did catch my attention though...

Dave McCollough, who coached Mills at Noblesville High, said the now former UK walk-on was a good kid who could be "squirrely" like a lot of kids. When asked to explain squirrely, the coach said, "You know, nudging a guy next to him or talking when they shouldn't be talking or joking around or rolling his eyes when you're not supposed to be rolling your eyes."

Make of it what you will, but there may be more to the story than Mills side. Whether we get it or not, who knows. And, it really doesn't matter to me. If people want to get riled up about it, have at it...it don't amount to much in my book.

Perhaps they should get some quotes from the coach too besides taking a one-sided approach. Everything they write concerning UK basketball is negative, especially anything concerning BCG.

Tipton tried to ask him after the game last night and he would have none of it.

Good! Not worth it.Nothing to gain, so move on.

I've watched every game on TV and been to Lex to a game and didn't even know he was on the team. I would rather be in a smaller school playing than on the bench at Ky anyway.
