1. Mason County. The Royals haven't exactly been hitting on all cylinders lately, but are still the clear-cut 10th Region favorites and are riding a 9-game winning streak. Tough contests remain against Elliott County and Bryan Station. Like a lot of teams, the Royals look unstoppable when they're hitting from long distance; and their defense is often overlooked.

2. Montgomery County. The Indians gave the Royals all they wanted last week in a possible preview of the 10th Region finals. They may be the only other team in the 10th that can match Mason County's size. Their only three losses since mid-December have been to Mason County, Madison Central, and Mason County again.

3. Campbell County. Arguably the 10th's best defensive squad, the Camels are now 15-8; with their only region losses coming to Montgomery twice and Mason. Albrecht and Nerl anchor one of the 10th's most pleasant surprises this year.

4. Clark County. The young Cardinals are solid but a bit inconsistent. Impressive wins against the likes of Madison Central, LCA, Ryle, Simon Kenton and Dixie Heights; puzzling losses to North Laurel and Rowan County are reflective of a talented but inexperienced squad. Could be very dangerous in the tourney this year; a nice 3-point shooting team and a coach that gets a lot out of his teams.

The next tier:

5. Bishop Brossart. Nice run in the regional and state All-A tourneys for the Mustangs; still king of the hill of the 10th's small schools. Solid defense and solid coaching .

6. St. Patrick. Owens and Anderson are the keystones in a Saints squad that has a great chance to win 20 this year.

7. Scott. With a deceiving 7-17 record; Scott is 6-4 in region play.

8. Harrison County. Struggled mightily early, but the addition of Talbott makes the Breds dangerous on any given night.

9. Deming. The King twins are solid.

10. Augusta. Staggs and Mofford are both averaging around a double-double.

11. Bourbon County. 10-15 might not sound like much, but the Colonels won only 2 games last year.

12. Calvary Christian. Don't look now, but CC currently has a winning record at 11-10.

On the outside looking in: Bracken County, Pendleton County, Nicholas County, Paris, Silver Grove.

Very nicely done, I'm not sure where you're getting your info from since the 10th is rarely covered on this site. :p

Since regionals will be held the 2nd week of March, I'm thinking I will be out of town. I can only hope and pray the Royals take care of business this year.

Bourbon County's coach should get co-coach of the year along with Brossart's for the 10th region.

Can't leave out Coach G at Montgomery. Very nice job in first year as a head coach.
