STRIKE3 Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 Did anyone see the end of the game. Rutgers up 1, at 58-57 and UT has the ball, less than :10 to go. Parker puts up a lefthand shot and rebound to UT player, who then obviously got pulled down and a foul was called. Here is the kicker. Clock showed 0:0.2, when the girl was fouled/shot. Ref's reviewed the film and slow motion, showed the clock "stopped/paused" at 0:0.2....for some considerable time. UT makes both FT's and Rutgers lose. This will be on many sports shows tonight and may get discussion, on many news cast.
CoachBuckett Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 I watched the end. My wife is a big fan of womens basketball. She is in bed mad. Not sure at who UT or myself. I told her that is what you call HOME COURT ADVANTAGE.
TheDeuce Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 Not that it was right, but you can't even get a shot off with .2 left...
HammerTime Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 Not that it was right, but you can't even get a shot off with .2 left... I think the point is the time should have ran out. They keeper paused it a little, while it was still in live play. That is the way I took it.

The question is, was any legitimate time remaining, when that happened and if not Rutgers wins by 1. The announcers commented several times, on the clock. Be interesting to see, what the NCAA says or does.
nees1212 Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 One thing I wasn't sure of, did they call the foul on the rebound or the shot? If on the rebound (which I thought is where the foul occurred) then .2 seemed right. However, if they called it on the shot, then time should've been expired.
NobizLikeShowbiz Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 Crazy ending. The clock guy was the MVP for the Lady Vols tonight!

Once she began to shoot, pulled down from behind. No question at all, she was fouled but should any of time been remaining.
DADDY CAT Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 Folks, if it can happen, in any sport, it is going to happen at UT. Nothing will be said or done about it, even if they have film proving it.
bellalumni40 Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 My argument is you have to come away with the rebound at that point. You do that, it doesnt matter. And what was with those uni's Rutgers wore?

bellalumni40 Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 Ok good. I was hoping they werent wearing those for no apparent reason.

If the foul was called by the offical on the baseline his hand goes up at the same time the clock hits 0.0. Going by his hand the game should have been over if the clock doesn't stop at 0.2. Did you also notice the clock didn't start on the inbounds play? Wonder if it was a clock malfunction or a finger malfunction? Too bad a great game has to end like that.
bellalumni40 Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 You guys do realize it is an official that runs the clock right? It's not like Pat Summit's sister runs it like might happen in a high school game.
