Well, Sweden and Denmark have been declining big time since about 1970 when the socialist tendencies began. And France, and Germany, as well as the rest of the continental EU have been pushing to become like the Nordic countries for whatever reason.

Declining? How so. And none of the major parties in control of the UK, France, or Germany are socialist. More left than US Democrats? Yes but not socialist. By European standards the government of Germany leans slightly more to the right and the French elected a "conservative" president.

You are right, I am not saying they are socialist, just that there is a growing calling for it.

Socialismcommunism. Socialism can and does exist in societies with democratically elected governments. A country does not have to have a totalitarian or Marxist government to embrace socialism. When Hillary advocates nationalizing health care and "taking" excess oil company profits, she is advocating socialist policies.

 

Americans are in danger of losing their personal liberty through creeping socialism and Hillary and Obama want to push this country in that direction.

I may not be the Smartest guy on the block, But there is something that I have realized That CHANGE is Needed.... IF the Democratic/Free Market isn't working we have to Change things... I'm not for Going Socialist/Commie....

 

The Government we have is flawed.....

 

HealthCare is available to those who can BUY-IT... Plain and Simple... It is broke and needs work.

 

Big Business: Oil Companies are Making 10'S of Billions while we have to pay $3.00^ for Gas... Somethings Wrong with that.... Not saying Businesses shouldn't make a profit we own a business ourselves, but you have to draw the line somewhere....

 

As for Taxes... Most of you don't even make what we had to pay in Federal Taxes.... $93,000^ ...

 

I was raised dirt poor My Parents Didn't have any Money... Maybe 15,000-20,000 a year between them both...

 

I got lucky though...

 

I own my Own Business,Home,Vehicle. And Health Insurance

 

And Have alot others Don't..

Ok believe what you want. I have a friend from France whom I went to college with and she was afraid of going to the hospital in the USA when she hurt her ankle. Satisfaction rates in the countries in the top 5 are way higher than the USA. And, I'm still looking for countries with national healthcare that have become socialist in the past 60 years.

BTW, France will go bankrupt soon because of their Health Care system and if you live there you still have to pay for like 20% coverage.

Would you be ok if your business is limited by law to a profit margin of less than 10% and you have to pay a windfall profits tax if it goes over that? That's pretty much what people are shoving at the oil companies.

 

Are you willing to have 50% of your income taken so that it can be given to the deserving poor? That's what some wealthy are facing.

My recent fact-finding trip produced more evidence, both anecdotal and empirical, than I expected to find and served to reinforce my belief that single-payer health care is a cruel joke being played on gullible citizens. If you can make it (as you have) why can't anyone else? If you had lived on handouts, do you think you would have developed your work ethic (which, through your brief life story, I'd assume is incredible)?

 

As for the $3.00 in gas, I don't like it but I don't see what the big deal is. If people don't want to pay that much for gas, then they simply won't, they will find alternatives. Then the gas companies will lower their prices. If that many Americans had THAT much of a problem with it, then the gas companies would have lower sales.

People think that health care is crewed up now (and it is) .....wait till' and their band gets a hold of it :scared:.

Those two make Bonnie and Clyde look like Roy and Dale. IMO them and their entire band of "commrads" would love nothing more than a goverment contolled society. (I stopped just short of voting for that option in the poll and probably should have voted socialism)

They don't participate in Social Security, I doubt that they'll participate in a government health plan.

You realize, all the countries you mentioned don't have as good Health Care as the US has now? We have our problems, but this is the country to be in if you have health issues.

 

The US does have the best healthcare in the world in terms of research and possible treatments. However accessibility for the citizens of the US is what a federal health plan is about. What good is our health care system if 47 million Americans are unisured?
