Time for BGP to support a KY girl--Sarah Elliott from UK/Jackson County

Featured Replies

You can vote once a day. Let's bring this award home for the KY girl. She stands in 3rd at the time of my vote.

The Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award was inspired by the story of former Duke star Shane Battier. With the trend of college basketball players leaving school early to play professionally, Battier elected to return to school, play basketball his senior season and earn his degree. When legendary sportscaster Dick Enberg chronicled Battier's story on CBS television he suggested there should be an award to honor players like Battier, who not only exhausted their college eligibility but also exemplified what a true student-athlete should be.

The award is presented annually to an NCAA Division I male and female senior basketball player who excel both on and off the court.

The greater emphasis on the off-court achievements of the candidate reflects Lowe’s commitment to helping young people build successful careers and encouraging students to use their skills to make an impact in life.

I voted for Sarah and for Chris Lofton for the mens.

Come on BGP'rs Please vote for Sarah.

Voted for her, but she's a long way down.

Lofton is way up, and Elliot is coming back.

I thought Sarah Elliot was from Pendelton County, sister of Pat Elliot? Maybe I am wrong

Close.

Sarah is from Madison County.

Went to HS in Jackson County where mom taught and served as an assistant coach.

Mom teaches and coaches at Pendleton County presently.

Pat did transfer to Pendleton from Jackson for his junior and senior seasons. He is now back at the Madison County home and played his freshmen season at Berea College. Presently, I don't believe he is playing anywhere.

I say all this to bring the thread back to the top of new posts and remind everyone to vote DAILY.

I voted for both Sarah and Chris Lofton. Sarah was back down to 3rd w/18% of the votes!
