I have a necklace that has been passed down through the years on my mother's side of the family, was given to the "baby" girl of the family and has been worn by almost every female for special occasions and will be forwarded onto my daughter. I have my grandfather's glasses and all the things he saved including a curl of my hair from when I was born and a strand of my grandmother's hair someone made into a key chain looking piece. I never met my grandmother, she passed 6 weeks after my parents married. Then there is my daughter, not a possesion but the second greatest gift the good Lord gave me.

A Colorado Avalanche practice jersey that is signed by the entire team.

I have alot of stuff from when my Dad played professional ball. I have his picture as a 18 year old with the Oshkosh Giants, which was the minor league affiliate of the NY Giants. I also have many articles from local papers around the country where he played, including the article when he signed with the Reds and went to Temple, Texas. I have his first professional contract and a league stat sheet from the league he played in and one of the players in the league was Roger Maris. I presented all this to him on his 67th birthday and needless to say he was floored. When he passed in 2003 it was given back to me.

Obviously my kids but this thread is materialistic things.

1. State Championship ring (just sums up all the hard work over the years and falling just short several times).

2. Master's degree (Drove an hour after work with a baby at home to finish it up). It took a lot of hard work and dedication.

3. Sholarship framed (I'll never forget the look on my parents face when they found out they didn't have to pay for school).

4. Tie between a footballl locket that was my great grandfather's. He was a captain on WVU's football team or framed American Flags from my 2 grandfather's funnerals. They were both in the military and my older sister + I trade them back and fourth each year at Christmas.

5. My late uncles golf clubs. I come from a family of all girls. He was like my big brother (fished, golfed, vacations etc) together. He was healthy as could be and got hit with cancer when he was 39ish. He had two little girls and had beaten the cancer. It came back on him and he died at 42. He had a set of newer Taylor Made golf clubs that I would have paid for to have. They sold them off and I never said anything but I was hurt. For college graduation my aunt/dad/mom gave them to me! They had set on them for 3 years without me knowing it! I cried like a baby!

I guess my music collection, including CDs and vinyl.

 

Probably a close second are my Steelers jerseys, especially this one:

I don't know if this is a "possesion" or not but rather a gift and that would be my Christian faith and relationship with our Lord and Savior and my Family.

Aside from those a silver dollar that was given to my dad for me by his father when I was born, my fathers purple heart medal from his time in the service and my fathers guns that he passed down to me. My father taught me many things and the love for the outdoor lifestyle, hunting and fishing were some of the best.

If this doesn't include family.

 

It would be a ring & earrings I was given.

Excluding the obvious answers such as family, air, etc....

 

I would have to chose my electric guitar. It took me sooo long to finally come up with the money for it, but it taught me that working hard for something really does pay off.

Strictly speaking of physical posessions I have to go with my Mosin-Nagant.

 

I know they are one of the most numerous rifles in the world and not terribly expensive, but it was my first one and I take excellent care of it. I have never fired anything more accurate than that thing.

 

I know that sounds a bit nutty to some of you.

My wedding and engagement rings would be my most valued objects. But the only things I would go back into a fire for are my husband and children.

Besides the obvious answer of my family . . .

 

I have a pretty impressive collection of autographed baseballs of all 300-game winners back to Early Wynn and several other great pitchers that were fairly close to winning 300 games (i.e., Tommy John, Ferguson Jenkins, Katt, Blyleven, Gibson, Feller, Roberts, Hubbell, Marichal, etc..). I have Lefty Grove's autograph, but not on a baseball. That's my next quest, but don't know if I can spend that much without upsetting the wife. :argue:
