Half way done in the SEC..thoughts...Predictions for Rest

UK still has a whole lot of work to do to get in, but if they only lose 2 more games they will be in great shape though.

Agreed. But saying it and then this team doing it is 2 different things.:thumb: Are they capable? Yes. Will they? Nobody knows.

You hit the nail on the head.:thumb:

Yeah all I am saying is if UK does finish strong, even with 11 losses, they will get in. Not saying they will, just saying if they will.

UK can't lose at home, they need to beat UT, Vandy, or UF, and probably still need to win the SEC tourney to get in...JMO.

If they win the SEC tourney they get in even if they go 0-8 the rest of the way. If they finish at 12-4 in the SEC and win an SEC Tourney game I think that they get in. The SEC is down this season but I can't remember the last time a team put up that kind of record in a major conference and was left out. They've got some bad losses but the selection committee will give them a little bit of leeway since they came with players out. Plus a 12-4 conference record will move them ahead of Florida, Mississippi and maybe Mississippi State (I know the Bulldogs beat them head to head but let's see how they finish) and I think the SEC and get 4 teams in: UT, Vandy, Arkansas and one more. It is still too far off to even worry about--the way that UK played against Auburn and the first half won't be good enough to finish out 6-2 or better.

To me, it's still to early to tell, still alot of basketball to play.So I just don't know at this time, give it another two weeks and it should more clear about where the Cats stand.

If they go 6-2 in the 2nd half, get a win or two in the SEC and reach 20 wins, I will enjoy all the crow in the world and Wireman will become my hero.

Wireman has said from day 1 this team would win 20 and while there is still A LOT of basketball left to be played, this team continues to win despite all the injuries.

Will be a very interesting last 8 games.

Aside from winning the SEC tourney, I think they must at least go 6-2 for the rest of the season, that would put them at 18-11 for the year. If they can scratch out a win or two in the tourney to go 19-12 or 20-12, I think they have a decent chance at making it..

11 loss UK team will not get into the NCAA tourney. Unless they win the SEC tourney. There are to many smaller schools having a good year.

Have you looked at the other major conferences? There are going to be a lot of teams in the 9-12 loss territory.

Big 10 is way down...

ACC is down...

Big East is really muddy after 3-4 teams...

PAC 10 has some pretty solid teams...

Big 12...Kansas, Texas, A&M...

There is going to be a lot of teams with a bunch of losses come Selection Sunday, and variables regarding who is playing well down the stretch, injuries and so forth are going to come into play.
