bigblueinsanity Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 The Cats stand right now at 12-9 (6-2) in the SEC. (Just think if we could have won both the Miss St and UF game which we had a chance too.) Winners of 5 in a row. Heres who they have left: Tue, Feb 12 at (23) Vanderbilt 9:00 pm Buy Tickets Audio Sat, Feb 16 at LSU 1:00 pm Buy Tickets Audio | Video Tue, Feb 19 Georgia 9:00 pm Buy Tickets Audio Sat, Feb 23 Arkansas 2:00 pm Buy Tickets Audio Wed, Feb 27 Mississippi 8:00 pm Buy Tickets Audio | Video Sun, Mar 2 at (7) Tennessee 12:00 pm Buy Tickets Audio Wed, Mar 5 at South Carolina 7:00 pm Buy Tickets Audio | Video Sun, Mar 9 Florida 12:00 pm Buy Tickets Audio IMO we beat LSU, UGA, ARK, Miss, USC, UF. We get beat by Vandy, UT. That would put us at 18-11. We would most likely got the 2 seed in the East and a 1st round bye. Lets say we win only 1 game in the SEC tourny is that good enough to get in the dance?
SouthernSportsFan Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 I have this funny feeling that Meeks will play @ Vanderbilt and Kentucky will get away with a win... it's just a feeling. I think the LSU game will be tougher than expected with a new coach and the emotions of the players. That will be a tough game. The game at Tennessee will be tough and I think the Vols will barely escape. I'm going to go with.. 19-10 or 18-11. With your prediction, I think 19-11 will get them into the dance. The committee will look at how they finished the season and will put them in above a team that had a better preseason and a worse conference schedule (the opposite of UK). Need proof? Look at Clemson last season.

I think that and 2 wins in the SEC tourny, if we can just lose to UT or beat UT, and lose to 2 other teams, that might get them in with 1 win in the SEC tourny.
CoachBuckett Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 11 loss UK team will not get into the NCAA tourney. Unless they win the SEC tourney. There are to many smaller schools having a good year.

UK will bring the fans and money to the cities. :thumb:

If that is the case UK would go in as 1 of the hottest teams in the country. They would put UK in. That being said, there will be probably be some surprises, but in also being positive and still realistic I would say 6-2 the rest of the season with losses to UT and Arkansas.

Look at Clemson last season. That LSU game is what has me a little worried because that team has talent on it and with a new coach they might start playing better. However that is a game that we CANT lose because we can't afford to have another loss to a bad team because if you go by LSU's record they are a bad team and we can't have a loss like that again.
mobaar Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 Who has UK beat besides UT? Vandy. #13 in the RPI.
Bart Fletch Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 I predicted them to go 10-6 in conferance. I think there on there way there with loses to Tenn, Arkansas, Vandy, and South Carolina. Jmo.
mobaar Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 11 loss UK team will not get into the NCAA tourney. Unless they win the SEC tourney. There are to many smaller schools having a good year. They did last year. 21-11 going into the NCAA. And they had lost 6 of their last 9. Oh.. and the year before. 21-12, and had lost 6 of their last 12.
GRC4LIFE Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 Vandy. #13 in the RPI. Not the team everybody thought they were...and conference play has shown that.

Log Mountain Boy Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 Who has UK beat besides UT? UK still has a whole lot of work to do to get in, but if they only lose 2 more games they will be in great shape though.
