Cumberland's coach mentioned he was taking the film to the KHSAA. Not sure what can be done about the situation now, but at least he will get some things off his chest. Good luck to the Skins the rest of the way.

Nice win for Bell County! I was not at the game, but its good to hear about their big win. Shawnta is a great player as is Wilson! Also, Bell County has some youth, so the future should be very bright.

Yes too much complaining and antics. Not enough coaching and playing. Bell is a very young team and played extremely hard.

 

The ref that called the basket good also was the ref the called every foul against Bell in the 4th quarter and all but 1 in the overtime.

Cumberland has the most talent in the region and it will go to waste. No direction.

I agree ATB, I have never in my life seen a team so out of control on offense. I feel like I could have ran from my seat in the top of the stands and took at least 4 charges myself. LOL If Bell had stepped up earlier and took some charges in the first half C'land would not have had anyone left to play in the 2nd half.

I sure hope the 12th Region doesn't swap refs with the 13th. I've never agreed with any of the calls by the 13th in the past few years that the 12th has played with 13th refs.

The 14th and 15th are calling each other's regions this year. So, either the 13th will have to call their own tournament, or probably swap out with the 12th. I know you don't want to hear that, and neither would I.

12th and the 5th are trading according to the people I talk to. I had heard the 13th were going to 15th, the 15th to 14th and the 14th to the 13th...if that makes any sense.

I really like how the 12th region officials call, but I think the the 13th officials(though the KC game was called too loosely)have been good in the games I have seen this year. I know people like to bash them, but all you can ask for is an evenly called game, and they have been that for the most part.

I still haven't heard one poster try to explain how 4 different acts on the court (1.ball tipped up in the air, 2. ball caught and pulled down, 3. ball dribbled with at least one step, maybe two and 4. a shot released) all in 1.0 seconds!!!!! Also, not even mentioned because there has been so much talk of this play, is the last possesion of regulation with either 1.3 or 1.8 seconds on the clock Cumberland inbounded the ball at half court to Johnson and Zachary going after the ball very hard collided into Johnson clearly knocking him completely off balance thus making it impossible to get a shot off before the buzzer. From what I was told, one of the officials told Cumberland's coaches that they didnt think the game should end on a foul like that???? Then they had the nerve to call that last basket in overtime good and sprint off the floor like they had just robbed a bank or something and not even give Cumberland enough respect to stop and all 3 of them discuss such an important play and make sure they all agreed whether or not the goal was good. I mean PLAIN AND SIMPLE that is just ABSOLUTELY NOT RIGHT and I would really hate to see that ever happen to any team in the 13th region ever again!!!! Is that the way sweet 16 state championship[ game would ever end?? ABSOLUTELY NOT, the 3 officials would get together and very thoroughly discuss what had happened and make a group decision, so why should a big District showdown game in this region be handled any different?????

There's no comparsion. I'll put the 14th above the 13th any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Just the 13th having to hustle to get other regions to swap with them is proof enough. The 13th guys have had controversy after controversy from the state tournament level right on down through the district level. Maybe they've gotten better in the last few years, but they sure had a long way to go imo.
