Payton Ponzer was sitting on the bench when the wrestling on the floor started with Martin and a W-town player, so I'm still not clear on why he was asked to go to the locker room by the AD. I know he received no technical or ejection. I guess time will tell what will shake out with the rest of this. It seemed to me W-town was looking for a fight. Just my opinion. I'm sure those involved will be appropriately dealt with, and learn from the mistakes.

He got knocked to the floor about 3 or 4 times and the ref that was closest to the action was Camacho and he did not call anything on any of those occasions.

WRONG! I don't need to take a look at the film. Sounds like the Williamstown parent and player that you talked with is trying to project the blame on Walton. Usually when people are guilty, they try to blame others for their behaviors and make excuses for their actions. Classic example here!

I was thinking that Nancy could give him something, just for her having the reason to make him go into the locker room. He must have done something to let her think he would do something during the game, if he gotten back in. So, I was just sitting here thinking that she could give him a game or two for just her personal reasons of what she saw from him during the game, right? Possible, I guess.

 

Best thing she can do is retire in some peoples minds from all of the different issues that are going on with the Lady Bearcats that I have seen posted.

Sounds like many fans are placing blames on others, when the blame should be on the athletes for disrespecting the game, their teammates, their parents, their coach and school administrators, as well as the officials.

I talked to a few WV players and they said they heard they'd be out as many as four games. I hope this isn't true, I don't want their season to go down the drains over one bad night.

I heard from a pretty relible source that the Martin kid was blocked out pretty hard under the basket. On the next trip down the floor, he took a cheap shot . The both of them started wrestling around and Spoonamore (W'town) and Ponzer (WV) were involved, possibly trying to break it up. All 4 of those players were ejected. 3 more W'town players left the bench area, but did not go very far out on the floor. Since they left the bench area, they were also ejected. I also heard that the officials will recommend all players ejected serve 1 game suspensions. It will be up to the schools if the players should serve more.

I guess everyone has their own opinion on how they see things that happen in the game. The first time #10 hit the floor was in the fiirst half when the ball was loose and #10 for W-V and #14 for W-Town went for the ball and ended up ontop of each other. This is when the 1st Technical was called on these 2 players from that point on #10 from W-V seemed to have an attitude. In the second half sarting about 1 minute or so before the melee he did go down 2 times first when he tripped in a scramble for a rebound the second was on a screen. Then on the last it was a screen in which he ran into #00 of W-Town. This caused him to go down at that point he raised to his knee an elbowed #00 in the groin. This is when the melee started. #23 for W-V and #14 for W-Town jumped in and grabbed their own team mates to try and break it up, but because they jumped in this gave them their T'S and ejections #10 W-V and #00 for W- Town for the wrestling match. and the ohter 3 for W- Town for leaving the bench. The officials did let the kids play a little hard , but I did not see it as out of hand. They did a good job and handled this very professionally. In the end all players (involved in the melee) and coaches talked to each involved before they left the gym and said their apologies.

What are they suppossed to do when two teams seem determined to embarrass themselves, other than keep calling T's and tossing guys?

 

If it was that rough, maybe they should have done something a little bit earlier. But with that crew, I understand how it happened. I would like to know what is said at the start of the games by the officials and how much of it is upheld during the game.

That's enough talk about the fighting that went on during the game.

So now it is a coin flip for the 1st seed in the district, when will that take place?
