Walton Verona 70 Williamstown 54

Featured Replies

Talked to a parent of a wtown boy... 4 Wtown players got ejected for leaving the bench, and or fighting. From what I hear, even though both benches cleared, only the wtown boys got ejected for leaving the bench.

Wrong! None of Walton's players left their bench. 3 Williamstown's players left the bench and that's why those 3 got ejected. I was there and seen the whole thing. It was an ugly situation and most of it could have been avoided if the officials hadn't let the game get out of contol.

WOW! I am sure more suspensions according to KHSAA rulea will likely follow.

I assume the game got rough and tempers flared. Were punches thrown or just pushing and sh oving in this rivalry game?

Punching, shoving, rolling on the floor fighting. Almost reminded me of WWE.

Crazy game, and some. Ugly and wish it wouldn't have gotten to this point. I'm waiting to hear what's going to happen to the players. Glad WV pulled away though!

Well, I wasn't there just heard from W-town parent and player that the W-town players left their bench after the walton players cleared their bench. Maybe someone should take a look at the film and see what really happened.:fight:

WRONG! I don't need to take a look at the film. Sounds like the Williamstown parent and player that you talked with is trying to project the blame on Walton. Usually when people are guilty, they try to blame others for their behaviors and make excuses for their actions. Classic example here!

Whoa! I wasn't saying you should look at the film. It would just be interesting to see the film to see what the refs were seeing since no one can see everything that was happening at the same time. Sounds like the Walton-Williamstown game is quite a rivalry.

I'm sure a game tape will go to KHSAA for review.

So, now since were talking about this fight, what kind of punishment are we looking here? Worst/best the boy's could get? And who think's should get in trouble?

It's an automatic one game suspension for an ejection. The KHSAA will review and could mandate additional time. Could be several games depending on what the KHSAA does.

I figured that, but what about Payton Ponzer? I know he was asked to go into the locker room/ by Nancy Ryan, but what could happen to him, if anything? I think I heard him yell something off the bench but can't 'quote' that. Anything to him?

He didn't receive a technical or get ejected so I don't know what could happen to him.

I was thinking that Nancy could give him something, just for her having the reason to make him go into the locker room. He must have done something to let her think he would do something during the game, if he gotten back in. So, I was just sitting here thinking that she could give him a game or two for just her personal reasons of what she saw from him during the game, right? Possible, I guess.

Payton Ponzer was sitting on the bench when the wrestling on the floor started with Martin and a W-town player, so I'm still not clear on why he was asked to go to the locker room by the AD. I know he received no technical or ejection. I guess time will tell what will shake out with the rest of this. It seemed to me W-town was looking for a fight. Just my opinion. I'm sure those involved will be appropriately dealt with, and learn from the mistakes.

Wasn't there 7 ejections (Walton 2 for fighting and Williamstown 2 for fighting and 3 for leaving the bench during this activity) and 7 or so technicals? It looked like the officials let this one get out-of-hand.

Surely you're not going to blame the officials.:scared:

What are they suppossed to do when two teams seem determined to embarrass themselves, other than keep calling T's and tossing guys?
