February 10, 200818 yr Obama is the ultimate empty suit. All image and no substance. He is truly a media creation. Sadly, he may be the best candidate in the campaign. This is easily the weakest field of presidential candidates in my lifetime. Agree 100%! :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:
February 10, 200818 yr It does seem that Obama still has more respect for individual rights than Hillary, and that respect is reflected in his healthcare plan. Hillary favors wage garnishments, if necessary, to compel people to participate in her plan. Obama is willing to let people opt out.
February 10, 200818 yr Agree 100%! :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: Double agree! :thumb: Not much of a selection imo.
February 10, 200818 yr Author Double agree! :thumb: Not much of a selection imo. I have felt the same way since 2000. While I wasn't that informed, I liked Bill Clinton & felt he was a qualified candidate. While I have not felt the same about Bush, Kerry or Gore. I just feel that in this field of candidates, I would like to see what Obama could do with the presidency.

I feel the gov't should work with the American people & not simply give more handouts. While I do think many gov't programs are necessary and good, we do not need to mandate more from the American people.
February 11, 200818 yr I like Obama b/c he's not been in Washington long enough to be an insider. Clinton and McCain have years of Washington running through their veins. I'll vote for Clinton if she gets the nomination but I smell what Barack is cookin'

February 11, 200818 yr This race reminds me of Let's Make a Deal. We have a choice between two candidates whose positions and scandals are well documented and available for viewing. Obama is standing behind the curtain. The question is whether Hillary and McCain are such bad candidates that voters will buy a pig in a poke. Obama may get elected by promising change without describing what those changes will be.
February 11, 200818 yr So, Dem regardless? Yep. Republicans have screwed things up too much for me. Plus I disagree with pretty much every policy issue in the GOP playbook.

February 11, 200818 yr You must be young. I don't see what age has to do with it. I am young and I am way too progressive to be a Republican. I disagree with just about every policy the Republicans have put out. There's nothing wrong with that.

There's nothing wrong with that. I think what he is saying is that if you were older, you wouldn't speak about Republicans screwing things up and support the Democrats instead. On a lighter note, it seems that people are serious about the whole "progressive" label. They hold the same stigma to me, which is that of simple disagreement instead of negativity.
