Where did Louisville go wrong in this process?

Where did Louisville go wrong in this process?

I think it was a case of making the commitment off of emotion, and not looking at all of his options first. You see it a lot with football recruiting...

I have heard he really likes Colorado, and is attracted at the SCHOOL being Wake. That said, he wasn't fond that U of L didn't want him to keep shopping, AND they have some solid TE's coming in already.

I'd say that would do it!:scared:

Anyone know why he isn't even considering Kentucky?

Why would you rather go to Colorado or Wake instead of Louisville. The only viable reason to me is that he wants to get away from home.

Colorado is an up and coming team. They have a freshman QB and some nice receivers and running backs. They like to throw the ball around. Wake is a multi-dimensional team where they run something like the option, but have the passing attack to go with it.

Other programs may not be Louisville; which wasn't much this year, actually will win games and compete and this young man may get a quality education as well.

Good luck to him!

The ironic thing is that UofL features the Tight End more than both of those teams. Neither team has had the recent success of UofL, especially when it comes to getting to the next level (NFL).

Hawkins at Colorado has really struggled since leaving Boise St. 6-6 (UofL's pathetic record this season) is great at for the Buff's right now. Wake runs the spread option, and doesn't feature the tight end. If I am not mistaken, UofL beat them in the orange bowl last year.

Basically, I am saying the other two programs are not as good as UofL, who is in need of TE.

Hawkins took over a Colorado program that was scandalous following the 2005 season. He went 2-10 his first season and had the Buffaloes up to 6-6, in a bowl game, and beat Oklahoma this year. Not to mention they have won a national title in their history. Wake Forest followed up a loss in the 2006 Orange Bowl with a bowl win and a 9-4 record this past season. Both use their TE's as much or more than UL.

^ They don't use them more than U of L. Louisville has 2 quality TE's coming in, so does Colorado...Wake has one, I believe. That said, I think he has academics and the overall "college town" feel in his blood. Louisville doesn't really offer that. I wish him the absolute very best.

Only offered/recruited as long snapper.

I wonder if this has anything to do with his father not being hired by Butler?

I understand the Butler folks cound noy "get him in the building" as a teacher.

Best of luck to both. Maybe he'll stay home and help WKU build their program.
