HOMELESS CAMEL Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 A nice win for UL, I know it's going to take Huggins a year or so to get his players there. Is West Virginia going to be any good this year?
1owlzfan Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Not the best game I've seen Louisville Play, but I still think they are finally coming out of their slump. A win's a win, especially against a conference team. Way to go Cards!!!!!:banana::banana::banana:
HammerTime Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 WVU was a top 25 team last week. Sloppy game all around but UL did enough to get a convincing W.
H Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 This game wasn't as close as the final score. Nice win for the Cards--they seem to be improving steadily since that puzzling loss to Cincinnati on New Year's Day. Things will get more interesting when they play some of the better teams in the Big East.

tcjkbt Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 I just wish the Cards had a take-charge back court player who makes good decisions. Clark got a little more aggressive on the boards when UL stretched the lead out midway through the second half. At 6-10, shouldn't he play down low more? UL played pretty good D tonight. Full house at Freedom Hall.
RockPride Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 So far UL and Cuse fans are wondering about a "puzzling" loss to a much improved UC squad... While I think UC is starting to really improve, the telling stat in that game was 3-23 from beyond the ARC....that doesn't seem to be a likely statline often with this team.

The UC perimeter D was tough and had a lot to do with that stat line. Same goes for last night...
RockPride Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 ^ I agree 100%....but even with great defense 3/23 is very rare....heck if they were 5/23, it MAY have been a different outcome.
gametime Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 UL frustrated WVU like UC frustrated UL. That's my story on this one and I'm sticking to it...
Getslow Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 This was a much needed win at the right time. It's good to see Palacios come back and be so strong at a time when Lousiville really needs him to be. It's the start of a four-game stretch that will be very telling for the remainder of the season. Away games at Rutgers and Seton Hall (two very winnable road games) and a home game against Marquette. A good run here and Louisville's right back in the Big East hunt heading into the meat of the schedule.

Excellent point. The shots (including many good looks) just weren't falling that day.
Jim Schue Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Two satisfying wins in a row, which is good. Clark and Sosa seem to finally be coming around. Lots of improvement yet to be made.
