If he doesn't leave USC to go to the Chargers then I don't see him going to the Falcons.

Not even Pete Carroll himself would even entertain this as a real possibility.

I have never seen a coach have more fun than Pete Carroll. I have never seen a team have more smiles on the sidelines than USC.

 

Pete Carroll is not in the upper echelon of highly compensated coaches. I hope he does not leave USC for the NFL. Pete Carroll is good for college football.

I really can't see Carroll leaving a dominant program that is stacked for years to come for a franchise that is sinking for any amount of money...

Carroll feels there is unfinished business for him in the NFL. And in reality, other than compounding his current success, there isn't much more he can accomplish at USC...I can't really see why he would want to go to Atlanta, but if they throw the franchise at him in DC, it would be tough to pass up.

I hope he stays, but if he doesn't, then I am sure that USC would hire one of the assistants that he has tutored while in Los Angeles. USC has a very good young staff.

1. How many head coaching positions in the NFL are actually better than the job he has now?

^ I agree....and I am not saying that I bought into him going to Atlanta...heck, he turned them down last year, and the job was leaps and bounds better than it is now....he does have a yearning to go back to the NFL, will he do it? No way to tell, I do know that he has been there, done that with USC, and it takes a special special person to continue keeping on keeping on.

I don't know the falcons job might not be so bad you will have a high enough pick to get Brohm, Woodson, or Ryan so you can get a decent qb for next season out of the draft, it might be a better situation than some think.

 

Don't kid yourself... Rookie QB's dont have good record in their first year, with the exception of Big Ben and Marino.

 

Lets see, Coach a team that will be in the running for another NC or one that will be a door mat next year?
