Next Season's Top 10

Featured Replies

Had this been college basketball, Dicky V would have given us his top 10 for next season on last night's post-game show but I guess college football is a little slow. The top 10 will be loaded with returning talent. Here's USA Today's Kelly Whiteside's Top 10:

1. USC--Sanchez or Arkansas transfer Mustain at QB, tons of talent

2. Georgia--Moreno and an experienced defense

3. LSU--Perrilloux and QB, tons of other talent

4. Ohio St--Boeckman, Wells, great "D"

5. Oklahoma--Bradford was a Frosh, good returning "D"

6. Florida--Tebow, Harvin, USC transfer Moody, 9 defensive starters

7. West Viginia--White, Slaton, Devine, etc.

8. Kansas--Reesing, solid "D"

9. Missouri--Daniel, Maclin, Temple, improved defense

10. Clemson--return most of their starters on both sides

Tough to pick a favorite. Could be another crazy year next year?!?!

Dicky V might not still be alive if they had a season like football did. He might have had a stroke.

Its tough not to have Auburn in the mix there for the top 10.

They start a completely different offense in their bowl game and beat a supposed preseason top 10 team. They also will return a lot of people on defense and offense. Personally I'd have them in there over Clemson or Kansas.

IMO Kansas won't repeat what they did this year again next.

Ohio State should be around the bottom 15 dont you think.:thumb:

Here is the ESPN College Gameday Top 5 it will just be a secret for now to avoid criticism

1. THE OHIO State University (because we can't be convinced until the jury gets a 3rd look)

2. Notre Dame (Hey we all know every high school kid dreams of going there)

3. SMU (June Jones and his system can take on anyone just ask Georgia)

4. Minnesota ( hey they hired tubby smith in basketball so they must win at everything)

5. Washington University (Tyrone Willingham is going to cure cancer)

Lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your as optimistic as a Big Ten, OSU fan.

Here's mine, Top 4 in the SEC, then USC, next 4 in the SEC, then the Suckeyes

Lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your as optimistic as a Big Ten, OSU fan.

They're optimistic.....:scared:

Auburn is going to be very good next season.

Tennessee is going to strong, they return their entire offensive line and Coker.

I don't know if these are top 10 or not, but they are going to be strong next season.

They're optimistic.....:scared:

His was a joke, mine was a joke....................You've spent way to much time trying to figure out an angle where the Big 10 is better than the SEC.

Hard to say right now. UGA and OSU will be towards the top. W. VA may lose Slaton, and maybe White I think? Next year should be a great year, but I don't think it will top this season...

Im a little biased but this is my 10. I'm a Florida guy.

1) Florida- return 9 starters on defesne that should improve, and all the skill postions, plus the hesiman trophy winner. Probably the most talented team in the land.

2) Georgia- Stafford and Moreno probably the best QB, RB combo in the land

3) USC- Even if they lose all their starters, they just re-load anyways

4) West Virginia- Lose a lot on defense, but This has to be Pat White and Slatons year, right?

5) Oklahoma- If they play 14 games this year like they played 12 of the 14 last year, they could very well be the national champs next year.

6) Ohio St.- Hate to put the 2 time national runner up here, but hard not win they could return up to 19 of their 22 starters from a runner up team.

7) Mizzou- Their offense will be explosive, but will their defense improve?

8) LSU- Perlloux will get a lot of the Tebow treatment from last year. Can he throw. If he can LSU will be in the thick of things again.

9) Clemson- they return a lot, can they win a big game

10) Auburn- 10 4th SEC team in my top ten, return a lot, won't be able to suprise teams like Florida this year.

This could all change depending on who leaves for the draft.

I think next year will be better then this year. There were truly no great teams just a lot of really good teams, next year their will be 4 maybe 5 truly great teams.

OSU should not be in the top 10. I just cant wait for SC to run all over them, and prove its just not an SEC things, its just that they aren't very good outside of the mid major that they play in

Coker was kicked off the team....you mean Foster? Creer? Hardesty? Those were the top three backs at the end of the year. I heard Foster might go pro....

But you are correct about the O line. Plus we have a more mobile QB in Jonathan Crompton. His arm is supposed to me bigger than ole # 10, but not quite up to ole # 18 status.

Defense should be much much better. One DB that was on Academic suspension has been readmitted to UT (can't place the name right now) and all should be healthy and ready to go come fall.
