Next Season's Top 10

Featured Replies

If I were being honest with myself and not the top 5 I made earlier I would put UT in the top 5 and I would say the UGA v. UT game will send one to the national title game and eliminate the other from the picture. With that said though UT will have to find someone to call the plays correctly because they will miss Cutcliffe badly.

I say:

1. USC- The new NFL U?? Joe McKnight is going to be the real deal.

2. Georgia- Loaded, Richt found his coaching stride, I look for more of the same next year. I never thought he had the right mindset to win it all, now he does as he is more of a motivator and his players seem to love him and go to war for him.

3. Florida- Dangerous, i say winner of their game with Georgia beats USC in title game

4. LSU- Should open up the offense a lil more with Periloux

5. WVU- dont mess this up Bill Stewart.

6. Oklahoma- usual good for getting beat by one average team and getting crushed in the BCS.

7. OSU- dont belong here, but after getting humiliated by USC, they will probably win out as usual.

8. Missouri- should be tough with Chase Daniel coming back.

9. Auburn- tough, we'll see how the "SYSTEM" fairs at a major school. I actually think it will work quite nicely.

10. UK- ok i was just joking here.... I do think they stay on the right track with about 7 wins or so.

Real # 10. WHo knows. I dont think Clemson, they always look really good then have a horrible 2 or 3 game stretch. Kansas should be good, but i will have to see another fantastic season to become a believer. I think Rutgers may sneak in here if Rice is back. Illinois could be good. Tennessee, ah... I say NO!!! Phil Fulmer is in over his head pitted against Richt, Meyer, Miles, Tuberville, probably even Petrino, even though he accasionally beats Richt frm time to time. Texas could sneak in. Who knows, as crazy as college football is now, Notre Dame or Duke may be here...ok, theres probably no chance for that.

Im a little biased but this is my 10. I'm a Florida guy.

1) Florida- return 9 starters on defesne that should improve, and all the skill postions, plus the hesiman trophy winner. Probably the most talented team in the land.

2) Georgia- Stafford and Moreno probably the best QB, RB combo in the land

3) USC- Even if they lose all their starters, they just re-load anyways

4) West Virginia- Lose a lot on defense, but This has to be Pat White and Slatons year, right?

5) Oklahoma- If they play 14 games this year like they played 12 of the 14 last year, they could very well be the national champs next year.

6) Ohio St.- Hate to put the 2 time national runner up here, but hard not win they could return up to 19 of their 22 starters from a runner up team.

7) Mizzou- Their offense will be explosive, but will their defense improve?

8) LSU- Perlloux will get a lot of the Tebow treatment from last year. Can he throw. If he can LSU will be in the thick of things again.

9) Clemson- they return a lot, can they win a big game

10) Auburn- 10 4th SEC team in my top ten, return a lot, won't be able to suprise teams like Florida this year.

This could all change depending on who leaves for the draft.

I think next year will be better then this year. There were truly no great teams just a lot of really good teams, next year their will be 4 maybe 5 truly great teams.

I agree. I think Florida will be the pick at #1. IMO, LSU will be higher than #8, Perrilloux has already proven he can win a big game (SEC Championship). But your last point is dead on--a lot of really good teams battling it out.

1) Georgia

2) Florida

3) USC

4) Oklahoma

5) Ohio St

6) Auburn

7) Missouri

8) LSU

9) Texas

10) W.Virginia

His was a joke, mine was a joke....................You've spent way to much time trying to figure out an angle where the Big 10 is better than the SEC.

Read all my posts from yesterday, or any day and please show me where I ever said BIG 10 is better than the SEC. I promise you won't find one. I just think you're hatred towards OSU, and the BIG 10 are ridiculous. And saying that just about every team in the SEC would beat them is even more crazy. I have a favorite team in both conferences, so I don't care who is better. I don't root for conferences......I root for my teams.

Ohio State should be around the bottom 15 dont you think.:thumb:

tOSU should be just below the 5th or 6th best SEC team?

USC

Kansas

Florida

Georgia

West Virginia

Oklahoma

Ohio State

LSU

Missouri

Clemson

Then shouldn't you have them ahead of USC? lol

Ohio St. will be out of the running after they lose by a couple of TD's to USC on 9/13.

Well, MCLegend, i thought about that, but i figured that i had no idea who would win Florida/Georgia and I would think that USC could potentially win em' all, plus, I like the BCS #2's chances every year in the title game. They seem to fair a little better. I know what you are saying though.

Had this been college basketball, Dicky V would have given us his top 10 for next season on last night's post-game show but I guess college football is a little slow. The top 10 will be loaded with returning talent. Here's USA Today's Kelly Whiteside's Top 10:

1. USC--Sanchez or Arkansas transfer Mustain at QB, tons of talent

2. Georgia--Moreno and an experienced defense

3. LSU--Perrilloux and QB, tons of other talent

4. Ohio St--Boeckman, Wells, great "D"

5. Oklahoma--Bradford was a Frosh, good returning "D"

6. Florida--Tebow, Harvin, USC transfer Moody, 9 defensive starters

7. West Viginia--White, Slaton, Devine, etc.

8. Kansas--Reesing, solid "D"

9. Missouri--Daniel, Maclin, Temple, improved defense

10. Clemson--return most of their starters on both sides

Tough to pick a favorite. Could be another crazy year next year?!?!

Mitch Mustain? Didn't he get kicked out of school for night-putting with the teenage daughter of the Dean?

I also think Florida will be loaded next year. USC is every year so they have to be up there. A lot of this can't be done until we find out who is going pro. I know Clemson is losing James Davis I think it is which will hurt a lot. OSU might be losing a couple etc.

Night-putting? Never heard that story....that's common place though. I think the real reason was Nutt liked to run too much (instead of pass with Mitch's H.S. coach as NEW O.C.) so Mitch, Damian Williams, and Mitch's family all transferred to USC.
