I have also heard that there is a new defensive coordniator on staff for the Colonels. If so what is the word on Cotton Adams?

Not sure about Cotton but I heard Phil Russell is the new Defensive Coordinator. He was previously at Pulaski co and East Jessamine most recently. I know Phil and he has a passion for coaching and will be a big impact to the program.:thumb:

I agree.

It looks like spring ball is only a few days away. I have heard that some kids are departing from the team and some other kids are going to have to step in and take over. Does any body know what players are playing what positions? Specifically in the back field.

Alex Patrick has agood set of hands. He also appears to have grown some and has decent speed. I heard that this is the strongest team Coach Black has had since he took over. I expect this team to be much better than last year.

Early rumor from spring ball practice. The Ryder kid is playing QB in a wishbone offense. From what I understand they were showing option and midline. The patrick kid was at wide reciever. What players would probably be in the backfield? I thought for sure Patrick would be, but I understand reciever too (can catch and should be able to block well).

Caoch Campbell had a good run during his time there...

I'm with you Campbell did a good job as head coach and I think he would have won more if he had stayed.

I thought that virtually the entire backfield returned, guys such as Jones, Powers, Lebanion, Bowlin & Wynn. Are these guys not playing?

Basicly everyone returns for the Colonels. They lost one lineman, and a couple of other players from last year. There will be some kids playing in new positions this year but the kids are basicly the same......except bigger stronger and faster.

I thought McCumbers was a school record setting quarterback. Surely he will be missed more than your letting on. I thought he was better than most gave him credit for.

McCumbers was a decent passer, but wont be missed at all.

You seem to know a lot about the program. Is their any truth to the Rider kid playing QB? Who is going to be the offensive coordinator this year? Who is going to be in the backfield for Whitley?

Im not sure who will be playing, but Coach Blacks problem will be where to put all the talent.
