What is the latest from the Colonel Nation, everything seems to be static.

Is Lebanion with the team and lifting or is he with the basketball team in open gym or with the track team? He is very talanted in all three.

Hopefully he will be back for the Colonels this season.

Heard that Whitley had a nice summer program with trips to different camps, and made progress, what is the latest?

I hate to bust the Whitley county Bubble but a few other teams around your district is returning almost everyone from last year. I know Letcher County and Clay will be loaded up with talented juniors and seniors returning most of last years starters. How do you all figure that Whitley has made such drastic improvements and your opponents have just stayed the same?

Peace out.

No bubble to burst, were just excited about the upcoming season. Letcher, Clay, Perry and N. Laurel all return a number of good football players. However the Colonels only really have to replace one on offense and two on defense. All the replacements saw a considerable amount of playing time and W.C. was in every district game. My outlook on the district is it will be very competitive and anybodys for the taking.

If I were a betting man I'd stack our District up Like this.

Letcher Co.

Whitley

Clay

Perry Cent.

North Laurel.

Depending on what Clay's new coach Does you may be able to flip flop those three top spots, basically I'd say its anyones for the taking.

1. Clay Co.

2. Letcher Central

3. Whitley Co.

Looking at the schedule, Clay goes to Whiltey, while Whitley goes to Letcher, and Clay goes to Letcher.

With a new coach and all that traveling, I move Clay to third, move Letcher up to first and Whitley to second.

You make some good points but......

Letcher graduated lots of good football players, they do return their QB who is pretty darn good.

Nobody really expected Letcher to as good as they were last year, much of it to a weak non district schedule and a below average district. The Colonels could turn it around much the way that Letcher did last year, as they return most of their team.

I dont believe you can count anyone out of the district race. All teams were very competitive with each other for the most part and return good players.

So How is summer practice going for the Colonels. What do their numbers look like going into the season? Have not heard much lately on them, how is Coach Russell fitting in?

Do the Colonels have any injuries?

What does the offense and defense look like?

So many questions and so few answers.

I think this could be the year Whitley County football gets back on track.

Russell isn't with the Colonels anymore due to some unforseen circamstances and as far as I know all the Colonels are healthy. It should be a fair season for the Colonels. Good luck to Jim Black and the Colonels this year.

I was thinking roughly the same thing. Clay's new coach will probably stick with the system there they already have in place, with a few tweaks, like Herren did with Williamsburg. Letcher will still be tough. Whitley has a few questions to be answered before moving up the district ladder. The Offense from last year sputtered along. If Black would go to the old system that he used to succeed, this could be a scary team. I also believe that NL could be a lot better than many forsee.
