I honestly don't think either has much to prove.

After loses to GW and and San Diego, even a win over Louisville wouldn't keep Billy Clyde off the hot seat.

As for Pitino and Louisville: They don't have much to prove either. Beating a horrible UK team wouldn't do much for their season. Especially since this Louisville team was pre season top 5 and some went as far as comparing them to our beloved 96 cats.

Three Simple Words: Billy Clyde Gillispie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pitino hasn't beaten UK in 3 years meaning a loss Saturday will mean his seniors never picked up a win over their biggest rival.

Wait a minute, Pitino has 3 straight losses to UK? That don't make much sense to me, because UK supposevily has had a terrible coach during those years. So no way can that be right that the "do no wrong pitino" had lost 3 straight times to that one guy....;):D

Sorry had to do it. Now as for this thread, I think Billy G has more to prove. Because Billy G has gotten off to a very rough start this year, but with a win over UL that would start to smooth things over and really help Billy G out..

Pitino because UK is bad and it would make him look worse to lose again!

UK is so bad that Pitino beating the 'Cats will prove nothing. Pitino does have a lot to lose in this game but I think the chances of him getting out coached in this match-up are pretty much non-existent.

Easily BCG will have more to prove. If he wins this game all hope is not lost but if there is a loss...

but if there is a loss...

....then its just another loss on a miserable season.

Pitino has more to prove.

Pitino has more to lose. What's it say when UL can't beat a subpar UK team thus far. I realize that there is talent on the roster for UK, but most of that talent has been injured. Pitino also not being able to beat UK in 4 years is not good.

BCG on the otherhand has a team that is dominated by inexpeience. They are young, play inconsistent and are still getting used to his defensive schemes. Some of Uk's players attention span on defense last no longer than 10 seconds. A simple back door or hot hand beats UK this season (Houston, SDU, UAB and G Webb tell you this).

IMO, Pitino has a lot more to lose.

Just like the last time BCG faced Pitino.... oh wait.

Different year, different team...

Tubby was good enough to beat Pitino even when UK had less talent. So far, Billy Clyde has not displayed that kind of talent. He has a lot to prove in this match-up.

You said BCG couldn't out coach Pitino. Was A&M just that much better last year?

What does Tubby have to do with anything?

Tubby proved that he was a better bench coach than Pitino in a series of head to head match-ups. Gillespie's one win over Pitino with a different team proved nothing. Billy Clyde's current team has already lost to teams with less talent this season. Gillespie has much more to prove today than Pitino does.
Seeing as Pitino has a national championship, has taken three different teams to the final four, and is no doubt a future hall of famer, I'd say that pretty much sums up that Billy Clyde has a bit more to prove. Just my opinion though.

Agreed!
