FSU down 36 players myth????

Featured Replies

11 of the 36 were walkons...correct?

So essentially FSU brought 60 scholarship players north...correct?

UK brought 56 scholarship players to the MCB.

UK brought fewer scholarship players to the MCB than FSU.

Of the 22 starters that FSU rolled out there...21 of the 22 were 3 star or higher rated players. 14 of the 22 were 4 or 5 star players.

By no means was FSU talentless. They had all of their skilled players/starters in tact...

Basically, UK was in a lose-lose situation.

If they lost it would have been bad...if they win and they did, they should have won.

Will they be ranked? Hopefully, and probably should because, there was a whole bunch of teams near the bottom that got beat.

Imagine that, a Florida team with talent...

I knew they would have the talent despite the suspensions/injuries. You don't just come out of the state of Florida and not have talent on the roster, I just don't think its possible.

People forget the talent at Florida State and the fact that most of the players on there roster were considered better than UK's players at one point. It was a good game and I love the fact that UK beat a team with the tradition of FSU.

but what you guys are failing to realize about the FSU squad was that they were without a starting CB, LB, DT, WR, 2 TE's, G,T for the game. So alot of the talent that they had on the roster didnt have alot of experience due to being backups. But nonetheless they would have won if this scandal doesnt happen. But it happened and FSU lost. Congrats to UK on back-2-back bowl wins for the first time in 50+ years.

I believe Coach Brooks said on the pre-game radio show that over the last three years Ky had signed 5 {4-5 star recruits} to Florida State's 56.:scared:

So you've got 4 and 5 star guys on the bench with no game experience, who's fault is that.

FSU had all of their big weapons, IMO. They had Weatherford, Carr, Fagg, the RB's, etc. I thought they looked pretty talented and had plenty of team speed.

This was still a huge win for Kentucky. No matter how many spins the docs try to put on it.

Agreed.

I could care less who was there and who wasn't. The fact that UK has built their program to be playing FSU in a bowl speaks volumes. The fact that they beat them and could have beaten them worse makes me estatic! We lose a ton of offensive weapons next year but Locke/Pulley in the WVU spread look could be exciting. The great thing about next year is for the first time since I can remember the defense has a chance to lead the team at UK. They will be down some and I think most folks realize that but I think they are doing things the right way to be solid year in year out.

They are definitely headed in the right direction. UK has improved as a team and as a program. As long as they keep going in the right direction, what else can you ask for?

Amen to that. Kentucky has no control over anything else except Kentucky.

not their fault the players in front of them are better.

But Bowden was quoted as saying in the press conference that they lost because they usually rotate a lot of players in and out and they didn't have enough gas to finish. :creepy: I'm confused.

Which is it? Inexperienced backups who had to play or we didn't get to play our rotation that we always use and it includes a lot of 2nd stringers?

ALOT of 2nd stringers. Basically they rotate on the D-line and not so much at LB. the loss of Dekoda Watson killled them and they had a freshman starting that game. The D-line was down 2 so they had to keep the starters out there more than usual. Im still pleases with the way FSU played, they never quit and had a shot to win this game, however they fell short, period.
