Faust at St. Henry is a great coach. I bet you will find that he loses a lot of kids to Cov Cath and yet still wins year in and year out.

 

I bet there are probably not as many kids from the SHDHS district playing for CovCath as you think. In the four years I was at CCH I think there was one kid who went to a SHDHS feeder school that played varsity for CovCath. In that same span, there was at least one who did the reverse, and went to a CCH feeder but played varsity ball at St. Henry. I can not say for certain how trends have changed since then, but I imagine that it has not been drastic.

 

That being said, I would take either Faust or Listerman any day of the week. Both great coaches, and even better men.

He has the most talent year in and year out(Holmes occasionally) and what has he done with it? He should be in the regional finals every year.

What is is record in the Sweet Sixteen? And if he is so great why doesn't he go further when there?

Hahaha all Toyota does is give parents jobs its not like they make the players good anyway. Would you mind to look at the success he had at Corbin Don't get yourself confused with a good coach and recruting.

 

People obviously do not know what an applicant must go through to be hired at Toyota. For me the process took 2 1/2 years!!!

:thumb:Couldn't agree more. Great guy and highly thought of him throughout the 9th Region by those who matter.

Mike Listerman has a lot of experience under his belt but from what students say at cov cath a lot of players are not too fond of his ways.

Maybe he's not looked at too fondly by some but he is respected by many. He keeps winning. His record speaks for itself.

I agree. Good coach, not great at making a connection with players.

Say what? Scott County finished 32-3 that year and everybody knew they would be good after Rick Jones transferred in from Corbin.

 

Hicks is a great coach, without a doubt. But sometimes his supporters go a little overboard in their praise of him.

 

I was wrong Scott County was ranked 5th in the preseason that year.

Not in my book. But I'm sure the CovCath drum beaters will have a different view on this

I didn't know that. I've met him before he really impressed me. Well you never know what the story is anyway there could be just a little bit more than we know. What do you know about situation?

Hatcher, Wright, Norm Bowling, Mabrey, and Listerman.

People closer to Listerman, geographically speaking, know more about the coach than those outside of the region. Cov Cath wins games and that is what people see but what they don't see is the talent he is given. Cov Cath should be in the region finals every year and in the Sweet 16 every other with the talent that goes there. He may be a good guy and always says the right things but 90% of coaches in NKY can't stand the guy.
