Did they move the Toyota plant from Corbin, and Harlan. Or could it be he is a great high school coach. I think most most of us know by now Toyota has been there twenty years and at the most maybe one kids parents work at Toyota every year is on the team. Almost all the kids have started in the grade schools there. Give it a break.

 

I agree...while Scott Co football is successful, they would be competing for the Championship every year if Toyota was involved.

 

I think Toyota could bring in 5-10 players, not just kids in a uniform, I mean players, every year if they desired.

When they beat Lexington Catholic, LC was not playing like they are now. That was probably LCs worst game of the year. Listerman is a good coach but not great. Jim Hicks in NKY is a great coach. He is able to mold his players and get them to play the right way. He never gets the Cov Cath talent but consistently has been to the region tournament. Faust at St. Henry is a great coach. I bet you will find that he loses a lot of kids to Cov Cath and yet still wins year in and year out. Henley at Holmes is a great coach. Most coaches wouldn't put themselves in a school like Holmes, but Henley is able to get the most out of his players.

He is a good one, but he needs to have success with another group before being thrown in with Mabrey, Lusterman, Hatcher and others.

I would not say CovCath has more talent then a lot of the teams they beat. I don't believe they are more talented than LexCath. Listerman is a great coach.

 

At the 5/3rd I was impressed that Cov. Cath. does not beat themselves, they find the mismatches when they exist and get the ball there. They are solid on defense and don't give up easy baskets. I do not believe they have any "superstars" on the roster, but they belong in the top 10 or better. In my mind, all signs of good coaching.

I love how we put coaches in the "great coach" category without seeing them coach a team to anything. Listerman has never had to win without talent. I think to be a "great coach" you need to be able to win with a team no one expects to be good and if you have a good team you need to win state at least once.

My top coaches in the state are ( in no particular order)

Billy Hicks, Mike Listerman (a class act), Steve Wright, Tim Riley, also I know they dont qualify but Danny Haney and Kelly Wells.

I agree ... Morrow is a guy that never gets mentioned, but he does a good job and he's been successful wherever he's been.

The interesting thing about Listerman is that his coaching ability seems to be held in much higher regard out in the state than it is in his own backyard.

Humphrey did a good job at Simon Kenton before he went to Clark County.

Hahaha all Toyota does is give parents jobs its not like they make the players good anyway. Would you mind to look at the success he had at Corbin Don't get yourself confused with a good coach and recruting.
