I just saw The Great Debaters at the Esquire in Cincinnati yesterday. Very good movie. Great little old theater as well.

You know, I enjoyed the first film but I realized that I have a different way of looking at things during the battle scene.

 

I sat there and analyzed Peter's tatics and overall strategy and determined that his army should have lost because he didn't take advantage of the terrain. Yeah yeah, I know it's a story. I just was amused by my own take on it.

Try not to look at it from the military historian standpoint next time ... :sssh:

 

Don't feel bad, I do the same stuff. It's why I have such a hard time with movies in general — I'm always asking questions like "do they really expect me to believe he can shoot a gun that many times without reloading????"

Hey I argued with a friend of mine that going to Helm's Deep was a disastrous idea for Rohan because of their armed forces being almost entirely cavalry. I eventually recanted when I realized how outnumbered they were but in Return of the King when they charged the Orcs on Peleannor Fields and routed them with a full force I turned to him and said "Told you so." :banana:

I havent got out yet to see that. There are still so many movies I need to see. But I'm glad to hear good things about it. Denzel can't go wrong.

From what I've read in interviews with Wilson, it appears part 2 will be based on the girls ditching the guys and crashing Weddings of their own and the guys trying to get married so that they come crash their wedding so that they can talk them into coming back.

 

Good plot device.

I want to see Harold and Kumar 2 for sure.

 

Semi-pro did not look too funny in the commercial - but either did Walk Hard and it was hilarious.

 

Hancock is now titled "Tonight, He Comes"

 

 

As for Saw V, I watched a few minutes of the fourth one after seeing all the first three at the cinema and I thought it was horrible. I'll have to watch it all the way through before saying it didnt get any better - but if it stays true to the first few minutes part 5 will have a lot of ground to make up.

I would have to say Indy 4 is my most anticipated...
