It will be very difficult for Elliott to pull it out today & here are a few reasons:

EC scores a lot from the opponents mistakes & CC is well coached & make very few mistakes. CC will be the best "D" team EC has faced & will really make EC work on "D" with their disciplined "O" Both CC & EC's style of play on both sides of the ball may take its toll by the last half of the 3rd Q on EC's tired legs. You saw the Christian Co game & EC had more rest that week than this week. EC has played 1 more game than CC & 2 of those being within 18 hours of this game, while CC is on 24 hours. Plus EC went all the way home last night ! Why I do not know but I am sure they could afford to stay in Lex! Good luck EC

Hey gryche11 have you seen Elliott play yet? I know a week or so ago you said you had not.

 

I saw some highlights and that was enough for me to see that they are scrappy and all shoot lights out. I read enough on here to know they are for real and well deserving of their ranking. I would love to have a ticket to today's game.

I have only seen CCH play once this year, and they didn't impress me much. I have not seen Elliot County play this year - or ever, I don't think.

 

With that said, I still like the Colonels' chances in this game. Elliot County seems small, and the Colonels height should give them problems. If EC wants Ferguson to put up 30 shots so he can score 30 points, then I say go right ahead.

 

I think CCH has the potential to dominate the glass, which could give them control of the game. Rebounding, boxing out and rotating on D are 3 things that Listerman emphasizes all preseason & season long. I think those things begin to pay dividends in tournaments like this one, where teams are forced to play back-to-back-to-back games.

I think if you will check the stats you will see he doesn't need that many shots since he is shooting around 44% on three pointers alone. Again, I don't have any illusions about this game. It should be a good one, but let's assume a kid shoots a ton of shots just because he scores a lot of points. With Elliott's style of play they have 3-4 kids who could score 30 on a given night. This is not a game where Elliott will score at will and they know it. I look forward to watching the show!
