I think Elliott wins this one in a close one.

Elliott's shooting will be better than last night.

Cov Cath will not make many mistakes.

I dont want to discount what Elliot Co has done and the amount of talent they have on that team but I know Coach Listerman's defensive scheme will thwart any 80 point outburst. Elliot has the quickness and dead eye shooters but if CCH gets a hand in their face and controls the boards like I know they will, it will be a closer game than most think. I predict CCH 69 Elliot Co 63 Final.

 

I guess the two Faulkners boys at under 6' will have something to say about that. You gotta be able to find em before you can box em out. These two seem to always be there when the ball comes off the rim.

This may be this best game of the Tourney so far.

Look, I'm all about the underdog and to be quite honest I hope they make it to the finals and face Mason Co. I am also a realist and have seen CCH play so it will be tough.

I'm not going to make a prediction because I have NOT seen CovCath play, but I will say that Elliott is a top 10 team in the state for a reason. That being said, this should be a very good game.

I guess Elliott County and it's little weak schedule really doesn't belong on the floor with the great Northern Kentucky schools. I'm sure they will show up and try to give CovCath a little competition before they go back to playing "Directional Carters".:mad::fire::fire:

If you would have actually read my entire post, you'd understand that while I along with many would love to see a school like Elliott make a run in this tourney, against the likes of CCH, LexCath, and Mason; reality says you need to prepare for these games by playing similar competition, not padding your stats against teams you can beat for fun?? Coaches know when they're sitting on a great team and normally beef up their schedules if necessary to challenge them. (The fact that EC is in the 5/3rd this year points to that fact).

 

For those of us who don't have a dog in the fight, it doesn't help when your supporters are out predicting big wins over established programs like CovCath and Mason either. Again, best of luck to them today and the rest of the tourney--I'm guessing they'll make a return trip to Lexington later in March after pounding a few more "Directional Carters" next year!!

Hey gryche11 have you seen Elliott play yet? I know a week or so ago you said you had not.

I have a hard time believing that the Colonels are going to have a hard time keeping 2 guys under 6'0'' off of the boards. They work on boxing out & rebounding too much for that to happen.

After reading posts from the typical arrogant, thou art better than you, Catholic school fan, I will take Elliott by 10.

I don't think Elliott plays the weaker competition to "pad" their stats (as you stated). I don't think anybody in the 16th boycotts Elliott. So....that means there are severl games that need to be played within the region. The district is also seeded...that means six games within the 62nd district itself.

 

To say that Elliott doesn't schedule top tier teams would have some truth to it. Mason is on the schedule this season--and next. You can't schedule a more quality team than the state's #1 ranked can you?

 

Here's hoping for a one point win over CovCath!
