"Ohio State starting cornerback Donald Washington and reserve corner Eugene Clifford have been suspended for the national championship game because of a violation of team rules, a source close to the team confirmed last night."

Not good for the buckeyes.

Shaping up to be another "exciting" championship game.

Whether you like the Buckeyes or not, you have to have a lot of respect for Tressel. He has a history of making these young men take responsibilty for their actions and providing appropriate punishment for rules violations. Putting more emphasis on character rather than a victory is why I like Tressel.

Without Washington it's going to hurt us, but Jamario O'Neal will be taking his spot, so we should be alright..

Looks like a shilacking is on the horizon.

No I don't... :p

Did you forget a smiley at the end?

O$U has had their share of problems under Jim Tressel, although nothing major has come out of it.

HHS fans will remember Eugene Clifford from the Colerain game.

This is the same Tressel that stood next to Maurice Clarrett and said he was a good person and took up for him. I'm sorry I have no respect for anyone that stands next to a person with that type of character.

Just another excuse they will have when LSU hands it to them!

:thumb: Absolutely correct. Jim Tressel is all class and he does things the right way.

These kind of suspensions anywhere are just beyond me, not for them being suspended but for them doing whatever it was they did to get suspended in the first place! A kid has a chance to be playing for a National Championship and goes out and messes up :irked:. Just goes through me, how many good kids that do not have the talent to play at this level would love the chance to play in a game like this and with a team like this (Major D1 Program)

Kudos to Coach Tressel for sticking to his guns on this and issuing the suspensions. :thumb:

(there are some that keep letting players back on teams time after time after time..........etc.,etc. :sssh::D)

I beg to differ on this statement. :scared::eek::scared:

Disagreed.

With the amount of time left before the game imo it will give Tressel and the staff more time to make adjustments and although it will hurt bad with Washington out the Buckeyes will be fine.
