Her boyfriend is allowed to live with her. 2. He's 19, she's 16. Hmmm....Mom allows this stuff to go on at home and people wonder how Britney turned out to be such a bad parent... Sad story. :thumb: I agree, looks like the mother set a great example, uh? As a parent, Lynn Spears seems to be a near-complete failure. I could be wrong. But I doubt it. Makes a parent want to rush out and buy her book on parenting doesn't it? You would have thought the Mom would have learned , after all she is the "adult" . IMO she just loves cashing in her daughter's fame, good or bad press. ^ Her mom let her boyfriend move in..... and now shes got one in the oven. If anything she should be charged with something. Spears, from LA is the most embaressing name in America. I agree. The media is glorifying this as well which makes me sick. Young girls out there are going to look at this as something that is OK but they dont realize that Spears has so much money its coming out her ears. This girl wont have to worry about paying rent, feeding the kid or whether or not she will have enough to buy diapers. The majority of teens out there who slip up and get pregnant will have these problems. I heard it on the radio this morning taking my kids to school and immediately turned it off.IMO you made a good choice. As I said before, the more their name is in the tabloids/news/t.v.,etc....... the more their price goes up. Some kids today look at things like this and even crime as a "social status" type of thing. The more trouble that they can get into the more they go up the ladder of popularity with thier little group of friends . I don't mean to trash all young kids / teenagers. There are some very good kids out there. I believe that we need to see more stories on them rather than the ones like this. Plenty of teenagers are good kids raised by good parents and do not "follow the crowd" so to speak. These are the ones that we need to be putting the focus on. Not celebrity trash!

There is a huge difference between a 16 year old and 36 year old. Is there a big difference between a wife that is 60 and her husband that is 70? Not really, what is ten years. But what about a girl who is 10 and a boy who is 20? Ewwww:lol:

I agree, and this young girl is no different than any of them, but she will be treated much differently in the public opinion. We make the mistake of putting celebs up on a pedestal and holding them to our lofty hypocritical standards, and then we act shocked when they fail to live up to them. In that regard, I'm not going to throw stones at her and call her names. She made a mistake, one that thousands of girls/boys make daily, and when it comes up in conversation with my kids, I'll use that point to help them understand that we are all vulnerable to temptation and we all make mistakes. We will talk about the need to use good decision making skills in all areas of our lives. And we will probably talk a little about judging not because we all have our weaknesses, and her "sins" are no greater than ours. I hate that this girl, who has influence over so many, made this mistake. But I hate worse that it is such a "big story" that it has to be plastered all over the news and the net. We have much greater concerns that should occupy our thoughts, IMO.

We get the news we deserve! That will be evident when the 16 year old mom cashes in for $1M when her baby is born and a magazine gets exclusive rights to the photos. I'm not theorizing here. Its already agreed to.

December 20, 200718 yr Not that that isn't a little disturbing, but when he's 39 she'll be 36, and that's not terribly uncommon. That's if you're referring to the age difference of course... you could be referring to how young they are. Yeah, they're young, but again, that's not terribly uncommmon. But in general, yeah, you'd think she'd learn her sisters' lessons. Just to clarify, my point was to focus on the the fact that he is an adult and she is a minor. How is this not illegal?

As stated in an above post, there obviously is parental consent. Also, stated above, the law in KY states that if she is 16 then it is not illegal (at least that is what me and the other member of BGP think the law says), but regardless the mother allowed gave consent.
