December 18, 200718 yr And he can longer fight the losing fight.. I see Rich doing a good job at UM, I'd say they'll be back to the top in 2 years..
December 18, 200718 yr So if Pryor is only a decent passer will he never get a chance to develop the pass? I think my point is made. Rich will run him all the way to victory. Good for Rich, bad for Pryor. How do you get from A to Z?
December 18, 200718 yr On his offense: "The spread, read option zone thing is really like 16 or 17 years old. It was when I was at Glenville State, and a lot of it was out of necessity. We took over a program that unlike this never won. They were shut out nine times in one season, scored 20 points the entire season, so when I got a first down, I got a standing ovation. I thought that was great. I said, 'I'm never leaving here.' "We stayed there seven years, tweaked the offense at Tulane, tweaked it a little bit at Clemson, then at West Virginia the past seven years slowly integrated other things. Part of it has been spread across college football, and we've been very open with our information. I want to evaluate our personnel here and see what best they can do in our offense, and go from there."
December 18, 200718 yr ^ No GT....they are only going to run, even if it is Mallett in that spread.....
December 18, 200718 yr Which AFL team was King last with? I know Woody Dantzler was with Orlando last? I see Pat White doing well in the AFL also. Night boys King played in the league for 6 seasons. I'd reckon that is about average for a NFL QB.
December 18, 200718 yr ^ Way above average actually, and he's qualified for the pension....I bet if we asked ole Shaun he would appreciate what Rich did for him.
December 18, 200718 yr ^ Way above average actually, and he's qualified for the pension....I bet if we asked ole Shaun he would appreciate what Rich did for him. ^ Doesn't quite have the same effect when going from post 50 to post 51.
December 18, 200718 yr Author Pryor can throw...I'll keep reminding folks of that. Kid runs like a deer. The offense, with him at Mich, will look more like what VY did at Texas than what Pat White is doing at WVU. I think Mallet and Pryor would amke a tough 1-2 punch for Big 10 teams to handle.
December 18, 200718 yr I have a few reasons. First not if he wants to pass the ball. Second they don't have the current RB set to do it and most importantly they don't have the lineman presently to run the spread effectively. Lastly, if he wants to run the spread for 3-4 years and try to play DB or WR in the NFL it might work. I think it's going to take some time to get the proper kids in there to fully run the spread. Not to mention even if Pryor goes to UM I believe Mallett is the starter next year anyways. Ohio State... tons of talent on board and more coming. More BCS games in the future = exposure...Boeckman on his way out... and Troy Smith...did well in Vestie's system. Who from Vestie's system has exactly become a starting QB in the NFL? Also, Troy Smith played about 70% from the shotgun his senior year. The difference b/n a true spread and WVU's offense is that WVU has designed their offense as a spread to be able to create natural seems to run the ball. If I remember correctly, Michigan has a zone blocking scheme that would work well with the spread option that Rodriguez has used at WVU.
