I did not say he wasn't a good player. I certainly challenge the statement that he would be the best player on Elliott's team.

 

I understand, its all what ifs and could ifs anyway it doesnt really matter. Its hard to appriacate how good any player is unless you watch them every nite.

And I didnt mean to imply Elliott doesnt have nice players they obviously do, and they are a fun TEAM to watch.

Selby will have his double-double thats a given, it might be 12 and 12, but he will get it, he wont be a factor in the game because of the margin Elliott should win by. Granted Selby hasnt had his most impressive games vs Elliott, but its because of the speed the game is played at. While this might sound like he cant get up and down the floor thats not the case at all he does extremely well for a guy weighing 300lbs. But consider the fact most of the time he will be on the floor with 9 guards. Believe me when I say Elliott can not stop Selby, but he will not get enough touches in this game to put up huge numbers.

 

If Selby played for Elliott he might avg. 20 and 20. And would probably be their best player.

 

They played twice last year and Selby didnt have a double-double either game. It could happen tomorrow night, but I dont think its a given. Elliott does have three tough games this week though, starting tomorrow night. Good luck to both teams.

Selby had a hard time keeping up with the pace in the Game that I seen at Morehead, so you could be right. But if they slow the tempo down and punch the ball inside, then Elliott cant stop Selby. But they sure can answer him and more on the other end of the floor. I stand by my prediction of 19, but could see Elliott winning by 40 on any given night.

 

It really amazes me just how classless some of the other posts on here are. Some people just post to stir the pot.:confused:

Selby will be a factor in this game, Look for the first half of the game to be close if not tied at half time. Then look for Elliott county to wear Boyd down and start pulling away and winning by 25 or more in the second half of the game.

Guys....I love my BC sports..... Selby is as good in the area as they get "at his position". BUT....If Boyd thinks they are going to be able to hang with Elliott on his shoulders ALONE......it will be a long night and an even longer trip home......Mayhew has got to shoot more. Steele has got to get the ball accross half court....Wilson has to score as does Crisp. Boyd is just not at Rogers clicking level yet......but they will be....gotta believe

I think Boyd can keep it close for the first two quarters. By close I mean down 6-10 at half (thats pretty good against Elliot). Elliot is way too athletic and will run Boyd out of the gym in the second half. Too much speed and athleticism for the lions to handle in this one.

Agreed, Boyds young guards are not ready for this type of pressure yet. And I hope they remember this is Roger not Phil coaching if it turns into a rout, I wouldnt want to be a starter on the floor in the 4th qtr. in a 40pt. blowout or it could end ugly for both teams.

I am not talking bad about anyone from anywhere. I think Selby is a good player but everyone is talking like he is going to be able to take over games and I dont think he is that good, IMO.
