Congrats to the Falcons on a great season. I think just about everyone that wasn't associated with Newport Catholic was pulling for Fort Campbell in this one. I also listened to the web stream from the Fort Campbell radio station and thought they did a great job. They had an interview with some of the soldiers in Iraq and also flashed back to their previous state championships. I liked the e-mails they took from the fans listening around the world. Good job Falcons and I enjoyed listening to the stream on the web.

I talked to an official who was working the booth upstairs and was evaluating the game officials and he had the opportunity to see the play on their monitors. He said that the TD call for Ft. Campbell was the right call.

Just showed the replay of Ft Campbell 's First touchdown 3 times on ICN 6 in slo-mo and the ball definately hits the ground all three times and helps the kid come up with ball out of bounds . That said I hope that they never ever have to rely on replays in High School Football .

Fort Campbell has an impressive looking young Sophmore tailback.

I'm very proud of and for the Falcons!! Being retired Air Force myself, it's super to see a DOD school bring home their fourth state title! My nephew played for the 3A Chasmpion Franklin-Simpson Wildcats in 1979, and Ft Campbell handed them their heads that year, Big Blue's only loss of the year.

 

That was a huge win for Fort Campbell in 1979. That win over Franklin-Simpson was the next to last game of the year for FC with Mayfield looming next. If the Falcons don't beat F-S, they would not have made the playoffs even with a win over Mayfield because FC got the nine points from F-S and beat Mayfield and Heath in the tie-breaker.

 

FC beat both F-S and Mayfield the following week (their first-ever win over Mayfield) and advanced to the playoffs thanks to the tie-breaker over Mayfield. Tough district. Had to get in on points and then won the Class 2A title.

Just finished watching the replay. It's a real shame that NCC didn't get the call on the game tieing catch in the endzone. Of course, they then proceeded to blow several more chances at it.

The 6 motion penalties against NCC was the result of Ft. Cambell D-line yelling "hut" during the NCC cadence. From talking to different coach's this has been a common practice with them this year. It is the officials job to call this.

I just watched it Tvo style and it makes me sick knowing that two awful calls ruined a game like that. That's life, congrats to Ft Campbell you are a very talented team.

I don't much care about the call of whether or not the NCC really was in the endzone, I would have been disapointed had that shanked punt lead to NCC winning because it was clear that Ft Campbell was the better team and beat NCC in pretty much every facet of the game.

The announcers thought the NCC kid got in the endzone, too, but, regardless, when you're at the 1 foot line with 3 downs to get it in, you can't use that as an excuse and make a claim that that ruined the game. I think the penalties thereafter were there downfall and that's no fault of any calls the refs made. Even had they scored and tied it up, Ft C scored shortly thereafter and NCC would have had to have scored again which they didn't do.
