They were the better team and deserved to win. They did not need the help they got numerous times. The White Hat did not make YouTube because he was a good reciever.

I don't much care about the call of whether or not the NCC really was in the endzone, I would have been disapointed had that shanked punt lead to NCC winning because it was clear that Ft Campbell was the better team and beat NCC in pretty much every facet of the game.

 

Actually the one area NCC dominated in the game was special teams play.

 

The coach of Fort Campbell put the punter in a bad situation with what was maybe the most bonehead play call in a long time.

 

Leading 14-7 and ripping off long run after long run that NCC hadn't stopped all day and especially in the second half, why would you run a double reverse with a pitch back to the QB?

 

It fooled no one and not only killed the drive, it made the punt come from deep in their own territory.

 

Granted your punter should not shank it, but if he shanks it from mid-field thats a lot different than losing all that yardage in your own territory.

I completely agree that I wouldn’t have called that play in that situation. However, I’m guessing that he was going for the jugular when NCC least expected that type of play. That’s one of those you’re a hero if it works and a bonehead if it doesn’t type calls and it obviously didn’t work. The receiver on that play was wide open on the cardinal head, no defender within 15 yards of him. It would have been a TD if he doesn't drop the pitch back to him.

^True, could have been the dagger thru the heart, or it could have cost them the title...

I agree it was a bad call in that situation, but had it worked and the reciever scored nobody would be saying it was a bad call.

So NKY doesn't have teams that play in all 6 classes ? I'm not talking about the finals, but the opportunity to get there. So I think that makes it Lville 2, Nky 2, the rest of the state 2.
