No Country For Old Men

Has anyone else seen this yet? I went and watched it Wednesday, it was very good. Javier Bardem is flat out chilling as the hitman and Tommy Lee Jones and Josh Brolin are excellent as well. The ending is a little abrupt but all in all a very solid movie.

I just ordered the book and will read it first. I will not look here again in case someone tells too much. See Mr. Brooks where someone did just that.

I've been seeing previews almost every night can't wait to see it!!!

I saw it tonight. The acting was superb. I'm still mulling it over though, not quite sure what to think of it yet.

I saw it and the 3 people with me hated it. I LOVED it. Thought it was GREAT!

I'll be catching up on watching movies once finals week here at NKU is over.

Have heard from numerous people that it's a great one....Heard the acting is incredible, plan on seeing it soon.

OK everybody, I have a plan. Someone PM Alabama Larry and let him know how the movie ends.:D:sssh:

These were my thoughts on the movie. I think it is one of those that I would need to watch at least one more time.

Just don't expect to leave happy and it is a great movie.

I love stuff that is different than what the mainstream is doing, and while all of the critics gave it superb reviews (and the Coen brothers never really cared much for all of the elements of plot), Stephen Hunter of the Washington Post summed it up for me:

I appreciate No Country for Old Men for the skill in the film craft. I understand No Country for Old Men for its penetrating disquisition on narrative conventions and its heroic will in subverting them. I admire No Country for Old Men for the way it tightens its grip as it progresses, taking us deeper and deeper into a hellish world. I just don't like it very much.

It was okay, it wasn't the end all, be all it was built up to be. Still a good movie, but I didn't think it was great.

I did like the open ending instead of having everything neatly tied up.

It was just OK for me, the ending just wasn't what I expected.

Absolutely loved it....
