December 5, 200718 yr The last Erik sucked! Yeah, but this Erik has K already in his name, the previous one had none, and would likely struggle to strike me out.
December 5, 200718 yr I'd take a progressively better WHIP in the 4 full years he's pitched. Especially in the AL East.... 04: 1.602 05: 1.384 06: 1.350 07: 1.088 I really think it all depends on how quickly Castellini wants to win. He'll trade Votto or Bruce, Bailey and Hamilton if it gets him a stud, IMO...
December 5, 200718 yr For the record, the Reds would include Stubbs in any deal. Major disappointment.

If they can get Bedard and only have to give up Votto, Bailey, and Hamilton doesn't that make them the favorite in the Central and a legitimate NL contender?
December 6, 200718 yr Any trade that involves Votto AND Bailey isn't good imo unless they are world beaters.

December 6, 200718 yr I think you are underestimating how good Bedard is guys. I'm inclined to agree here. He's done quite well with some really bad Orioles teams.
December 6, 200718 yr Author If they trade Bailey, Hamilton, and Votto/Stubbs for Bedard they will be the favorites to win the NL Central next season.
