I initially thought the same thing, but I think the way AAU rules on this is if the players main team goes to D2 nationals, then the player is considered a D2 player and can play on a D1 team in nationals. That has to be the case in this particular situation because I know the player in question played on a team in the D1 state, then that team decided to play D2 nationals, although all 5 teams qualified and could have played in D1 nationals. But, as long as AAU approves it, then I don't see a problem with this player playing on 2 different teams -- one in D1 and one in D2.

Anybody else have a headache! Yes, I do :creepy:. I know the team and player in question. I know it was cleared by the AAU, for the player and team. Kentucky AAU, allows some stronger D2 teams on the teams request to play up D1 in the state tournament. This makes for more teams and a competitive tournament.

I think there is about 80 total teams playing in about every gym in Scott County and the Cunningham Center. BTW -- I don't think the Warriors were one that was turned but I could be wrong -- I do know they were invited in plenty of time even if they. But, in the defense of qryche11, I do believe he wanted the Warriors to come.

Coaches are out of town this weekend for the Warriors. Not sure of the details but that is the last I heard. We got the email in plenty of time but just couldnt get it to work out. I think the field of teams look great and it should be a fine tournament. I am hoping you all keep us posted on how the games go. Rainman since you are a stat guy go ahead and post some scores if you can. I know the Warriors will be entering some tournaments over the next 30 days and also looking for teams to play. We have gym availability and I know the coach is soliciting some coaches. They are gong to start practicing a couple times a week. They havent been able to practice at all this winter due to school ball and all the games and practices that are associated with that for both the public school kids and catholics. I expect them to be playing competetively by April 1st and ready for the state D-2 Tourney.
