Based on the info I was getting, it's pretty clear there were several people in the search committee that were doing too much talking. In the end that soured the deal. I don't think they will wait until after the Title game, but you never know I guess...

I agree with GT --- UM will not wait until Jan. 8 or thereabouts. That would put them way behind in recruiting.

 

Heard that UM might be interested in Brady Hoke (Ball State).

Miles can come out in a press conference and say what he wants. I don't think we have heard the last of him as the Mich. coach. He said what he needed to say and kept his players positive to play in a Championship game.

When the final game is played we'll see if he actually stays at LSU or leads the Wolverines.

Les Miles is the one to blame for the Les Miles situation.

I still don't believe that we have heard the end of it. IMO he saw it affecting his team vs. Arkansas so he came out with what he did before the SEC championship game. I could very well be wrong but to me Miles is a "snake in the grass" arrogant jerk type and he will be announced as the next coach at Michigan on Jan. 8th....the day after ther NC game.

This totally reminds me of Billy D to UK rumors...even after it became quite clear that Donovan wasn't coming to UK, some people still thought he was coming. Now, that Miles has stated flat out that he'll be LSU's coach next season, people still think he's going to Michigan.

Anyone else find it funny that this might have been a done deal until an OSU grad. broke the story. If its true the early leak soured the deal than the people in Ohio must be laughing hard at this. Looks like OSU might just have beaten Michigan one more time.

Does Herbstreit take the info and run with it hoping to mess the whole thing up for Michigan?

No, The info Herbstreit was giving was accuracte info. LSU backdoored Michigan and gave a better offer. Martin would not hire a coach without a formal interview process and this allowed for LSU to come with their own terms that MIles found to his liking. Kind of funny how things turned out. If Miles beats Ohio St. He did not even need a new contract because his current one states that if he wins the NC he will be one of the top three highest paid coaches anyway.

Ahh, TSH, you know he really didn't say anything there to make us think he isn't still going to Michigan. My sources/bankers tell me that he's the Michigan Man and they've never been wrong.

 

I still expect Billy Donov...er, Bobby Petr...er, Nick Sab..er, Les Miles, yeah, that's it, Les Miles, to be Michigan's coach after the BCS Title game. :sssh:
