All Play No Work Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 St. X up 14-0 late in the first half on a snowy, windy field.
All Play No Work Posted December 2, 2007 Author Posted December 2, 2007 St. X FG on last play of half. 17-0 St. X leads.
All Play No Work Posted December 2, 2007 Author Posted December 2, 2007 20-0 St. X with 6:37 to go in 3rd.
mexitucky Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 St. X completes one of the most impressive seasons ever for a Cincy-Greater Cincy team. The schedule that they played was ridiculous.
cshs81 Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 I'm 90% sure that former Dixie Colonel and Buffalo Bill Mark Pike has a nephew that plays on Mentor's team.
gametime Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Where was the game played ????? Canton I believe...
mexitucky Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 If I'm jock surfing, I don't care. This season was impressive! Read the article. http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20071201/SPT030101/312010037
Easton_15 Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Sitting in the hotel in Canton, yes it was at Fawcett Stadium in Canton, total domination by St X, Darius Ashley rushed for 271 yds on 36 carries, Mentor did not cross the 50 yard line until about 1:30 left in the game. Most of the first half was played with a constant down pour of sleet, winds 20-30 mph. Stadium holds approx 23,000 and I would say the crownd was around 20,000.
NEERFAN Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 St. X took all comers and triumped, one heck of a franchise over there in the GCL.
cshs81 Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Most of the first half was played with a constant down pour of sleet, winds 20-30 mph. . They need to move the game to Columbus or Cincy. This obviously hurt Mentor somewhat with the D1 player of the year being unable to throw well.

This obviously hurt Mentor somewhat with the D1 player of the year being unable to throw well. It really didn't seem to make a difference in the throwing game, He still was 18-31 for 159 yds, there were several fumbles by both teams. Xavier held Mentor's ground game to just 9 yards. X had constant pressure on Mentor's QB, he was running for his life all night.

Since The Ohio State University added field turf this year and with Crew Stadium I look for Columbus to make a bid to host the games again. They could use Crew Stadium for D-IV, V, VI games and D-I, II, III at the Shoe.

They could use Crew Stadium for D-IV, V, VI games and D-I, II, III at the Shoe. This sounds like it is a good plan BUT I really hope that if Columbus gets it and they just so happen to make it in that format, I sincerely hope that they don't have it split up like they do now. When people have to leave a game and hop on a bus to the next stadium to watch the second game and then have to do it all over again to get to the first stadium, then I say that's ridiculous. But then again that is just my opinion on the situation.
