December 2, 200718 yr You were obviously the only one awake in Mythology class. I just know my history. :sssh:
December 2, 200718 yr That is exactly what I'm talking about. I don't speak Greek, and I can assure you that the majority of people that use Xmas don't do it because of that, . Some people also refuse to say Merry Christmas for fear of offending someone. Instead they usually say Happy Holidays. But when are the majority going to start worrying about their "privileges" being take away by the minority????? 80-90% of U.S. citizens (I stress U.S. citizens) are God-fearing people, yet the political views of the 10-20% are condemning the rights & views of us all. Isn't freedom of speech still part of the Bill of Rights? Merry Christmas!! Ho-ho-ho!!! Eat all you want! Fear God!!! Illegal Immigrants stink! Hillary is worse!!!! Gay is wrong!!!!! Santa Rocks!!! OPEC is a crock!, I mean crooks!!! Globalization is a bad idea!!! Exports > Imports = Solid Economy!!! Negative 6 Billion on Exports v. Imports an economy going broke!!!!! Middle class folks need a 3rd party!!! UK basketball rules!!!! Barack Obama is still a "Mooslim"!!! War on Iraq is all about oil & legacy!!!! Protect our borders!!!!! No vacancy on Lady Liberty!!!! Insurance is outrageous!!! Healthcare is a by-product!!!!! Pharamceutical Sales companies are half the problem!!!! The other is greedy doctors!!! Representative-democracy is not representative, unless you are a lobbyist!! 3 out of 5 voters are uninformed!!! The rest are just lazy!!!!! Merry, merry Christmas from a God-fearing, conservative, non-partisan American who hopes his grandchildren have a country they can call their own.
December 2, 200718 yr Still, using Xmas doesn't "take Christ out of Christmas." And like most abbreviations that came into being long, long ago, people rarely know why they use it, other than the fact that Christmas is a tedious word to spell out. And I always thought that was just a Louisville private school trying to take over everything again.:lol: Bet none of the Trinity faithful spell it that way.
December 2, 200718 yr I do not accept, I'm highly offended. Post reported! MERRY CHRISTMAS and I ain't apologizing.
December 2, 200718 yr Do you tell your kids that when there's nothing under the tree? We have devalued Santa throughout the kids growing up. We have even devalued the gift giving at Christmas time. Usually the kids MAJOR gifts come at their birthdays and not at Christmas. Santa brings the things like underwear and the like and the good gifts like a Wii come from their parents, ME. I have always found it interested that in the two big Christian holidays of Christmas and Easter, society has created a secondary figure to take away the importance of Christ in these holidays. Just interesting to me. If I was of the mindset of Hillary, I would call it a great left-wing conspiracy.

For that, you should be commended. :thumb: I have always found it interested that in the two big Christian holidays of Christmas and Easter, society has created a secondary figure to take away the importance of Christ in these holidays. Because Santa and the Easter Bunny are not recent creations.
December 2, 200718 yr And I always thought that was just a Louisville private school trying to take over everything again.:lol: Bet none of the Trinity faithful spell it that way. Nope! Never! (We also remove the dreaded letter from our Scrabble games. )

December 2, 200718 yr Nope! Never! (We also remove the dreaded letter from our Scrabble games. ) Great to have you back RM and pray dad is doing better.
December 2, 200718 yr I don't pay any attention to that garbage. I tell yo what irritates me is when people take Christ out of Christmas. Without Christ, there is no Christmas. Amen to that:thumb:
December 2, 200718 yr Are you Earl Pitts in real life? :lol: Not quite....but I believe a lot of what he says about needing to build our social capital:D
