It was quite the scene every Friday afternoon when we had to block off Route 7 and utilize the straight stretch between Salyersville and Royalton as a runway. I didn't really care much for parchuting onto the field either, but since we only made the playoffs once, it wasn't that pressing.

I think it depends on how far your traveling. If you ar driving from Pineville to Corbin, you probably don't need a charter bus.

I believe LexCath had 5 charter buses Friday night at Bell High. One of them looked to be a little smaller than the others.

Probably for the kickers...Those soccer players don't need the room.

County School=Big yellow bus

Go chartered if you can afford it. The players will appreciate it.

Tough to do that any many public schools.

Coaches decision here at Breathitt Co. ,just like see the yellow buses on way to L'ville, and thats way it is buses if we go....

I agree. I think thats why a lot of public school districts just can't afford it, especially for the early rounds. But if your team makes it to the Regional, Semi-Finals or Finals, I think the desire to travel in style may begin to become more important to you than the money involved.

Thats why I posed the question the way I did, although I'm sure it doesn't cover every scenario.

I have been told in the past that its every bit as affordable to charter a bus as it is to use a "county" school bus. I honestly can't see it being a huge difference in price, anyone have some info on this?

Depending on how well you pay the driver of the school system bus, I doubt it would ever be comparable. At alot of schools the drivers volunteer or even coach so the cost is only fuel.

I think NCC is all chartered, but they may have changed. I know for all long trips we def charter. Finals definitely.

It always depends on how far the trip is in regular season or playoffs. Over 45 min = Charter

I don't know what JC did this year going to Lincoln Co, but in the past we took a Charter Bus.

I do believe that the Charter buses are nicer, But I would much rather ride the yellow dog. It does have to do with Attitude and superstition. If your winning and its not hurting your team keep doing what works for the team.

Were I the coach, I would be sure ALL games (even home games) were more than 45 minutes away so I wouldn't have to ride on that blue and yellow luxury land yacht that NCC uses.

When Letcher County came up here this week, I noticed that they brought 2 or 3 charters and 2 or 3 school buses. I felt really sorry for the folks that had to ride all that way in the school buses.
