Don't really see what you're getting at here. Hensley did do an excellent job, but he also had some of the best football players to ever go through Ludlow's school. Even with those players, he had 1 winning season out of the 3 he was there. To also say that Ludlow's offense scheme needs changing, I have to disagree. They lost their QB (Rouse) in the 4th game of the season. He came back for 3 games at the end of the year and still finished 2nd in passing yards. He had roughly 880 yards going into the fifth game before he injured his wrist. Ludlow's offense had two WR's finish in the top ten in NKY in touchdown receptions, receiving yards, and catches. When Rouse did go down, Ludlow found their QB to take over in Sophomore Zach Stegemoeller (sp.). He threw 4 touchdowns his first varsity start. Ludlow also had three runningbacks who combined for over 1000 yards and they are all returning next year.

 

So to say that Ludlow needs an offensive change doesn't really make sense. I think Randy Borchers and the coaching staff down at Ludlow have things going in the right direction.

 

I don't think it's hard to see what I'm getting at with my post. Rouse was a fine QB and I appreciate his efforts, but I could've been one of the top passers in NKY with the amount of attempts that Ludlow attempted. They made no attempt to establish a running game the entire season. You might want to check the stats on the 3 RB's combining for over 1000 yards. That might be possible if you include the QB's as well. The offense needs to be more than just a shotgun and throw the ball scheme. And to tell you something else you may not know, linemen enjoy run blocking much more than pass blocking. Now do you see what I'm getting at?

I think Newport will have a 100 percent improvement, which means all they have to do is win 2 games but hopefully its a lot more than that.

The Conner Cougars are going a have a VERY explosive offense. There going to have a strong O-line and pugh and Dockery in the backfield. There deep at wide-out as well, and they have a young, talented quaterback Nick West. There losing a few players to the new school being built. But i expect them to be one of the top teams in NKY.

The Cougars will have a good team next year, they have most of their varsity players coming back this year. The "young" team of last year has the building year out of the way and should be ready to improve and show NKY what they can do. I look to see Nick West, Austin Pugh on the offensive side and the cougar D is very strong this year bringing up their JV players from last year.

What is the 5A/6A cutoff?

 

I don't know what it was for this and next year. Won't know what the break will be when they reset the classes for 09 and 10 until the 08 numbers are in. The KHSAA takes the number of schools playing football and then divides the classes evenly...or at least thats how they've done it in the past.

Lloyd will be greatly improved next year. They have tons of talent returning and with the Coach Yeagle situation behind them look out. Next years junior class beat New Cath and Beechwood as freshmen.Hopefully the new coach will be selected soon so the program can move on.The returning senior class is strong combined with the juniors it should be a good year in Erlanger.

 

What ton of talent are you talking about ? Lloyd lost 9 starters on D., and, 4-5 starters on O. Hearthell, Walker and Sean Russell will be back, along with a few off. lineman. The Soph's do have talent, but, they did not get much playing time this year. IF the Soph's stick together, they should have a pretty good team in 2 years, but, I'm not so sure about next year.

They had a very good schedule this year, and a very GOOD Senior class, a GREAT bunch of kids, but, only manage to win 3 games.

I've lost track of Coach Hensley since he left Ludlow. What school did he go to? How's the program doing?

 

Yes Coach Hensley is at Taylor High School over on the westside of Cincinnati and has a difficult rebuilding program ahead of him but I believe if anyone can get their program on track I would think Hensley can get it done.

Ludlow lost alot when Hensley left. Not only is he a good football coach but 1st and foremost he is a man of the highest character. He teaches values to his players, praises them when they have done well and holds them accountable when they have done wrong but regardless he is always there to help a kid thru any situation and stays in contact with them after their High School years. Schools need more coaches like Coach Hensley.

In order for Lloyd to do anything next year they must change their attitude about defense. I have had no problems in the past with their offense as it has produced point's in the past. With Roy Jr. back at the helm and a good defensive coordinator they should compete next year. Will not be easy however, I have faith in the young men at Lloyd. JD

Conner very good jv team this year. They can't get any worse than this past year.

 

True, but Beechwood's JV beat them I think 27-0. I think that also says something about how Beechwood may be next year.

Dixie should have a pretty good team in the next year or so after all the players return. They had so many injured players on the JV level this year and the sophomores had a great season as freshman that I think they will have a good team by the time the sophomores are seniors. They beat Beechwood once and almost beat Conner without a QB since we had no QB due to a broken leg in the Conner game.

They will go 16-0 next year and Win 2 State Titles, then in 09 they will go 20-0 and win State in every class. becoming the 1st undisputed State Champions in KY history.
