Lloyd. With the Coaching debacle behind them, they can move forward with a new (possibly old) head coach and a lot of returning talent.

Next Year

A:

Dayton: Lose a lot with this Senior class and low in numbers behind them. QB and FB return. Might be tough to improve.

Bellevue: Lots of RBs back and decent numbers for A.

Beechwood: I think they will be down somewhat but the question is how much. One RB back might be enough, might not.

Ludlow: In a battle with the others to not miss playoffs, QB getting experience this year has to help.

 

AA:

Newport: Should win more if Sophs and Jrs play to potential.

LLoyd: Soph class lean, so talented JRs will have to carry team.

Holy Cross: Might be around the same as this year, maybe a little under with O losses.

NewCath: Large, talented Sr. (QB, RB return) and Soph class, lean Jr class. Not as deep, but still good.

 

AAAAA:

CovCath: I think they will be better, but by how much?

Highlands: Talent waiting, will be good again.

Dixie: Lose a lot of O.

Scott: Tough situation to improve with large Sr class leaving.

Holmes: Should improve consistancy.

Boone Co.: Lose mucho O.

Campbell Co.: I think they will be better on both sides of the ball.

SK: Should be better, maybe more consistant.

Conner: Should be much better.

Ryle: Depth should be better, overall I'm not sure.

I think SK will improve on the offensive side a lot next year with Bustle having a year of experience under his belt.

1. SK has alot of returning starters next year. JV team lost 1 game and frosh went 10-0. They need to improve their schedule and play better competition if they want to get to the top of 6A in NKy. IMO

 

2. CC will also be good next year. Alot of young talent. Depends on how they mature at the varisty level.

 

3. Conner would have been my #2 pick but not sure how many kids they will be losing to Cooper. They have the talent on the JV team to make big improvements next year.

 

About 95% of any of the Conner Football players will be staying at Conner, only a few live in the new district, and for the majority they will be seniors and have chosen to stay with Conner.

With a few changes in the offensive scheme. Ludlow could be a very solid team next year. Many underclassmen played alot of minutes this year.

 

Certainly not a pnthr4life like yourself but have had a number of friends and family attend Ludlow in years past and they all seem to think that more then a few changes in the offensive scheme might be needed. Seems as though since Coach Hensley left Ludlow that the Ludlow program has taken a few steps backwards. Obviously in small schools things tend to be cyclical but I have been told that their numbers are down particularily in the freshmen and sophomore classes and the excitment that Coach Hensley created has been lost. Hopefully they get things going in the right direction down on the river. Good community with good people.

Probably best to be politically correct but I have heard much the same as you. Sounds to me as if the program is at a crossroads after Coach Hensley appeared to do an excellent job of restoring a great deal of pride thru out the school and the community after they went thru 3 dreadful years if I;m not mistaken.

Don't really see what you're getting at here. Hensley did do an excellent job, but he also had some of the best football players to ever go through Ludlow's school. Even with those players, he had 1 winning season out of the 3 he was there. To also say that Ludlow's offense scheme needs changing, I have to disagree. They lost their QB (Rouse) in the 4th game of the season. He came back for 3 games at the end of the year and still finished 2nd in passing yards. He had roughly 880 yards going into the fifth game before he injured his wrist. Ludlow's offense had two WR's finish in the top ten in NKY in touchdown receptions, receiving yards, and catches. When Rouse did go down, Ludlow found their QB to take over in Sophomore Zach Stegemoeller (sp.). He threw 4 touchdowns his first varsity start. Ludlow also had three runningbacks who combined for over 1000 yards and they are all returning next year.

 

So to say that Ludlow needs an offensive change doesn't really make sense. I think Randy Borchers and the coaching staff down at Ludlow have things going in the right direction.

I've lost track of Coach Hensley since he left Ludlow. What school did he go to? How's the program doing?

I beleive Coach Hensley is at Taylor Hs in Ohio.
