Breathitt County 20 Russell 17 (3A)

Please, can everyone understand that it was not a kick from the 50 yard line that I was talking about. It was a 35 yard kick at the most. It wasn't the last drive, it was the drive that turned over on downs at the 22 yrd line.

I knew that.

It seemed like Russell was running the same play over and over in the first half but in the 2nd they opened up the offense but they couldnt stop the fans. I believe now my feet are thawing out....

HUH???

I did not get that either.

Just for the record. Me either.....

Sounds like a great game from both sides. Best of luck to the Bobcats next week and congrads to Russell on a great season.

The field goal would have been a 37 yarder. Dolly missed a 50 yarder by a few yards earlier in the season. He could have made it.

Good ballgame played by 2 pretty evenly matched teams. Russell had their chances and anytime you put yourself in a position to win and you play hard to the end it's hard to hang your head for too long. This is 2 years in a row where they have ended their season with losses that very easily could have been wins instead. This should be great motivation to get back to work for next season. Get a little stronger and faster. I understand that while they lose some excellent players, they will return a lot of talent and their secondary gained some valuable experience this year. The people from Russell will expect another deep run next year. I have enjoyed keeping up with you this year.

Congratulations to Breathitt Co. You survived to play another week. The task next week is probably too big but you never know? I feel that Belfry is too strong for any team in 3A this year. I have picked them all year to win it all and I see no reason to change now. Good luck to you next week.

37 yard in the cold, and the grass was frosty, it would have been a long shot. IMO I thought it was the right call given the situation. I wonder why the DB's gave so much of a cushion all night to the Bobcats recievers!

Morris likes zone defense, period

:mad:To all Russell fans how long since Russell didnt score a touchdown in the first half? Think about that till next season.

Now comes the dispare, Even with a 11 and 1 season.

Coach McGlone mentioned on his postgame show he probably should have tried the field goal but I thought the 38 yarder was a stretch in the weather too. The Devils were probably one first down from putting the game possibly away. You have to give Breathitt crdit for making all the plays down the stretch.

A tip of the hat to the Russell coaching staff and players on another outstanding season. I think they got everything they could out of this team. The loss of LB Kamron Smith also hurt the Devils in the second half. Evan Boyd played well in his spot but anytime you lose a starter it hurts your defense.

Great win on the road Breathitt Co.!!! I am pulling for you all here in Hazard!!! Hope we will get to see each other in the Pizza Box!!!

I have to say that Russell is a class act, Players and coaches came and gave congrats to Bobcats, Not many places you go and win that happens. Two good teams and programs. Well played and few turn overs could have been totally differant score,One thing BOTH teams hit and hit HARD tonite,Now i think we can rest case about Breathitt Co. NOT playing NO ONE,cause i do believe they past the test, cause Russell is Good team.

Way to Go Bobcats...Beat Belfrey.....I must say the ride home was enjoyable with this WIN!!! What about the Crowd from Breathitt Co. we had almost as many there as Russell.

Congratulations Bobcats! :thumb:

Congrats Breathitt!!

Also congrats to Russell for the season you have had and the best of luck to all your seniors.
