Too easy...

 

LexCath will see how difficult it is to play in the playoffs at Bell Co. I'm calling for a good game, regardless if one team is more talented than the other...

 

I have heard stories from the Highlands faithful about this! Stickymitts, why don't you fill us in with your experiences at Bell County?!

I do not care who you are playing at Bell Co is tuff. Lex cath will ultimatley be to fast for bell, but expect a good game. This is the game I am going to this week.

I believe LexCath will have a hard time stopping Bell's running attack. Also, Bell plays great defense. Bell will be tested by LexCath's speed, but they will be hit as hard if not harder than they have been hit all year. I think a key in this game will be Bell County controlling the time of posession.

I have been to several playoffs games to Bell County over the years. The last visit 2004. Highlands is historically known for its speed in the backfield as well as on the line. Bell's field is not exactly a track speed field. The main reason: grass field. I will just comment on what I witnessed. During the 2004 visit to Bell - the grass appeared a tad tall and a bit wet towards the hash marks... As I remember the field appeared to have a unsually high crown mid field. This may be the cause of the sloppy field conditions towards the sidelines...

 

Please post your remarks after the visit to Bell and let us all know if anything has changed.

 

Good luck to both teams. I have not seen Bell play this year. I did see the Lex Cath vs. HHS game. The Knights have a very good defense with good speed at the inside and outside LB postions. The CB's and Safety were good in pass coverage. There was an earlier comment regarding the coaches. I agree. Probably the best coaches in Kentucky in Class 3 A.

Make no mistake, Bell has been here before. Lexington Catholic is not Highlands!!!

One thing that jumps out at me about this contest is that LC has given up somewhere AROUND 2000 rushing this year. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Yes but Lex Cath has played a great schedule also!

I honestly don't think bell county should doubt Lexington Catholic's defense.

I have made a trip to Bell county this season, and will probably make another one.

I agree but you have to add Tom Larkey to the list and change the 3A to 4A.

Quite a subjective comment, do't you think? Have you played against all of these teams? If so, I apologize in advance for questioning your post

Well I can't comment on St X. They are without a doubt 1 of the best 2 or 3 teams in the state, probably the best. But I can say that Bell will hit just as hard as Scott Co, Harrison Co, and yes Highlands. And Highlands fans in general will probably agree with that. I never said Bell Co. was better than Highlands or St X. But Bell County will bring it Friday night.

On the season LexCath's only (sort of) weakness seems to be the rush defense. That does play in Bell's favor. One thing that worries me about Bell is not facing a team that is that good offensively all year. That being said, it should be a great football game!

I will be at this game, and will give the edge to Bell County because of Merrick. Merrick is the reason that this team will be in Northern Kentucky later this year. Special teams is VERY underrated in football fans eyes, generally. Merrick makes it the spotlight.
