I must say that Danville forgot about the playoff game tonight. They pulled out a variety of disappointing plays tonight. The more prepared and motivated team won tonight.

I would like to add that Ft. Campbell would/will beat either of these teams handily.

What!!!!! I can not believe this. No one had Bardstown to win and Danville was suppose to win it all according to all the media. This has to be the upset of the night.

It looks that way on paper, but this was no upset. The better team won tonight.

Great job Coach Clark at Bardstown. That tough regular season schedule is paying off.

What has happened to the AD's of late? Has the majority of talent moved out of city limits?

Bardstown showed up ready to play tonight. Danville marched down the field in the first quarter with an impressive drive and scored a TD to take the early lead 7-0. Bardstown made the necessary adjustments and basically shut the Admiral offense down the rest of the game. Bardstown's defense ate the Admiral's offensive line up. Danville's qb seemed to be running for his life most of the night on pass plays. Neither offense was dominating, but Bardstown made enough plays coupled with a very impressive defensive effort to topple the Ads.

Good job Tigers...I didn't think they would make it past the Ads. Good luck next week verses the winner of the Ft. Campbell and Owensboro Catholic game. Does anyone know the score of that game?

Well, I am returned from the game. Elation does not quite capture exactly how happy I am.

 

First, I had a great time with the pre-game chili supper over at ADopted ADmiral's house with AA, titletownclown, Jim Schue, Wireman, and admiralcrp. And while all those fellas are nice, it was AA's wife who was the real sweetheart and whom made a pot of chili that I ate 3 bowls from. They're all good people, and I plan on hosting something at my place next year when the Ads visit. I'm only 3 blocks from Tiger Alley.

 

As for the game, I was just so pleased with the energy and toughness of the Tiger kids. Particularly the offensive line, who just played their guts out and their were very few tackles for loss and no sacks. Just a fantastic effort by the line, guys I think you showed exactly how capable you were handling some very tough Danville D-lineman.

 

The defense was flat out stinkin' awesome. Simon ended up with 12 carries for 77 yards, but most of it came on the 1st drive, including a 44 yard run. Linebacker and corners stuffed the run the rest of the night. Logan Edelen #37 for Bardstown needs to give up golf and concentrate on football, he has the potential to be a man among boys.

 

Danville folks, I think Trae Gray may have had his growing-up party tonight. His numbers were not fantastic - I had him at 11-26 for 198 yards, 0 TD's and 1 INT - but he took hold of a team that floundered somewhat tonight and nearly pulled it out in the end. He was harrassed by pass rush all night but the Tigers could never get him. He converted untold 3rd and 4th and long situations. I think you've got a player.

 

Tiger secondary has got to hang on to would-be interceptions better. They dropped at least 3 tonight.

 

Jeff Helton #60 played an unbelievably good game.

 

Tigers, for the first time this year, were satisifed with 3 and 4 yards. Fullbacks were excellent. Kelvin Scott had a pedestrian 21 carries, 146 yards and 1 TD, but boy was he good on toss sweep tonight. Incidentally, for the first time this year I saw a guy who was in Kelvin's league in talking smack, and that was Leonard Macon. This game got pretty chippy and there was lot of chest-thumping.

 

All in all, it was a great win for David Clark and Bardstown, and what I come away with isa that these two inner city schools are going to be dogging each other in this district for years to come.

 

By the way, rest of the state, Danville is going to dominate next year. Everybody is coming back, its unbelievable.

You should have seen him tonight. I thought he was the only guy keeping them in the game.

WOW! Love it for my buddy Hearsay and hate it for all my Ad friends. I sure miss not getting a Turkey Day Cards-Ads game.
