St. X ranked #23 by USA Today

Featured Replies

St. X is currently ranked #23 by USA today. The amazing thing is, if you look at the regional rankings, they aren't in the top 10 in the South, because all 10 southern teams are ranked in the top 20.

Maxpreps has X at #9. Rivals has them at #24.

Congrats to (as their staunchest supporter would say) the intergalactically, all worldly, nationally ranked St. X. ;)

CR, it's nice to see that the adverb terms I utilized in years past to describe some ancient team have stuck so firmly in your mind. ;)

Now that's hard to beat!

I knew beating CovCath would get them noticed. ;):D

Seriously, congrats to St. Xavier, their players, and their fans. That is a great honor for a KY program. It is always nice when one of them climb to that level of notoriety. :thumb:

Not when you have ROCKPRIDE

;)

Covington Central Catholic???

Also noticed the passing leaders:

Passing

1. Alex Carson, Sr., Hatch Valley (N.M.), 594

2. Corey Robinson, Sr., Lone Oak (Paducah, Ky.), 463

Congrats Tigers for finally getting the recognition that you deserve.

It's great for the national ranking, but it doesn't mean a thing if the Tigers do not stay focused and finish strong. I wold love to see the Tigers win the state Championship and then start talking about rankings.

Amen, brother. Soccer did it. Ranked #1, went undefeated, beat the defending champs in the playoffs ( Bowling Green ) Great defense. Sounds like a good road map for football to follow this year. In the Chinese calendar, is this the year of the Tiger?

I agree. This is a bit premature.

Congrats to St. X

Premature for the team to talk, sure, but as a fan, I can celebrate it all! The team on the other hand should stay focused and not read the press clippings.

Great news for the Tigers. They also cracked the Top 25 in the CNNSI.com poll: CNNSI.com - Week 10

This puts St. Xavier in the Top 25 in 5 National Polls:

  • #9 - Calpreps
  • #24 - CNNSI.com
  • #19 - ESPN.com
  • #24 - StudentSports
  • #23 - USAToday.com

HERE is a compilation poll put together by Calpreps.com. Currently, St. Xavier is tied with Birmingham (Van Nuys, CA) at #20.

Pretty impressive. Definitely brings good exposure to the Bluegrass. :ylsuper:
