August 12, 200719 yr He's not better than Foster between the tackles and just had two good ones report to camp. He will be missed, but not like some people think. Missed? We'll see if he misses anything besides practice.
August 14, 200719 yr Fulmer is not going to keep him out of any meaningful game. I just moved back to Kentucky from Knoxville and this is classic Fulmer. The kid will miss some pracrtice and then will have all of a sudden "fulfilled his obligations to the team" and be ready for game time. Don't kid yourself, Fulmer is not a disciplinarian. "It ain't against the law for you to work, Augustus." Wrong. He is a disciplinarian. Just not in the fashion opposing teams would like.
August 15, 200719 yr Funny story on Fulmer. I got to see him, Manning, Pearl and a few others speak this past spring. Fulmer told a story about going to his local gas station to get a Sunday paper and a cup of coffee. He asked the guy at the cash register how he was doing. The guy said fine. The guy went on to ask Fulmer if he was a UT fan and Fulmer said "Yes I'm a big fan". The guy at the register went on to say "We're never going to do anything as long as that Fulmer guy is coaching!" I thought that was pretty funny and typical. Most folks just go with the flow and don't really know what all goes on behind closed doors.
August 16, 200719 yr Tennessee will be fine without Coker. Foster has set himself in stone as the starter, and Coker is a nice change of pace back, but for every 70 yard run Coker makes he has 10 runs of 2 yards of less. Word down here in Knoxville is that freshman Lennon Creer has more talent with just as much speed, just has to learn to pass block. All that being said Coker won't be back till October at the earliest.

Come on UK fans:" Rocky Top, you'll always be home sweet home..............."
August 16, 200719 yr To say that fulmer isn't strict is and understatement. He kicked out Onterrio Smith when he would have been our leading returning rusher and also dismissed Montrell Jones the same season. James Banks is another example he was our leading reciever and kicked out in the spring semester of his sophmore year. Brent Schaeffer was booted by Fulmer, and just this offseason he dismissed starting SS Morley and starting CB Fellows, so I don't see the point that he is so easy going and lets everyone back just because they are an important part of the team.

August 25, 200719 yr Coker allowed to rejoin Vols, might play in home opener http://www.sportsline.com/collegefootball/story/10316741 So a one game suspension. Not great, but since UT doesn't open with some NAIA school, he's actually missing what could be a VERY important game.
August 25, 200719 yr Coker spent the last two weeks in a rehab facility as part of his requirement to re-join the team. Against Cal the Vols could use his speed out of the backfield but a one game suspension is better than an entire season. If he slips up one more time he will be another Onterrio Smith.
August 30, 200719 yr Word from the land of Rocky Top was that it was a perscription medication that was the trouble. Something along the pain medication line. Cannot find out details, but if I do, I will pass them along. And yea....the VOLS will be OK w/o coker....so nice to have three or four back-ups to go to! :flame:
November 3, 200718 yr Tennessee ends up getting rid of sophomore tailback Coker http://www.sportsline.com/collegefootball/story/10448076
November 3, 200718 yr Amazing, the Great Pumpkin decided to becom a disciplinarian after his 3rd bad season in a row. Hey, you've got to stand for something and if you can't be a winner then perhaps you should have morals. Because he certainly didn't have any when he was winning. Fulmer is the biggest joke in the SEC.
