I would like to thank JC fans for coming on here and showing class. I appreciate all of the kind remarks. I think most would agree that the difference in the game was the LOS. Belfry was just stiffer up front. BOTH teams have excellent talent and good coaching staffs, etc.

 

I just want to echo prior sentiments and say that I hope that Belfry and JC will continue to play each other. I truly believe that this could be a fantastic series between the two premier programs in that area, and I have NO doubt that JC and Matney will get a win if the series continues.

 

As for EKU's post on next years team. Belfry will lose May and Hickman, but they will potentially be BETTER! Its frankly disgusting to think about right now.

As for Elkins, the unofficial word I have gathered is Grade 1 MCL Sprain, which means you probably won't see him playing friday, but should be back if all goes well, by Round 2. If this holds to fruition than that is a relief for all the Pirate fans.

I made what I thought was a very well thought out and very persuasive arguement about why Johnson Central would win this game. WRONG!!!

 

I explained that the due to the 2 class difference in enrollement that JC would have better athletes. WRONG!!!

 

I explained that Matney is one of the few coaches that can come close to the Belfry coach. WRONG!!!

 

I explained that Belfry was underestimating JC. WRONG!!!

 

Then I said that JC would start to dominate the lower classes over the next few years. WRONG!!!

 

I did finish by saying that NOONE scares Belfry and they always step on that field expecting to be the best team there and forcing you to prove otherwise.

 

I GOT ONE RIGHT!!!!!!!!!

Good post! Real football fans enjoy good football games and good football players and we got our moneys worth Friday night. Two class programs and coachs who were not afraid to schedule each other. The fans are the ones who won Friday night.

 

I am a JC fan, but I for one will be rooting for Belfry to win a state title. We all need to rally behind our mountian teams and players. As a passing thought, I wonder what the gate money will mean to each school if this serious continues?

Jude, I had the call on this one right from my first post last week. You made some good arguments and you know the program, but this was only going to JC if Belfry did what Louisville Central did against them.

 

I must say JC is a solid program and once they work on some finer points, such as special teams, they will be tough to handle.
