HUGE WIN!!!

 

Which I'll bet you find surprising, nees, since Dixie didn't "need" to win.:lol:

 

Great win by the Colonels. All facets of the game were clicking in the second half.

 

 

It was a solid victory, but I'm not going to back down from the 'need' statement. Same goes for next week's game.

 

My only complaint about this game, is that I would've liked to have seen the starters come out after going up 38-10. Marty got bent up like a pretzel on one carry, and it scared many Colonel fans. Thankfully, he got right up like nothing happened.

Great, great game by Dixie. The boys played the best ball I've seen all year. A couple key fumbles by Ryle helped Dixie in the 1st half. Ryle was able to run the ball one some of their first half drives as they had the edge on the line. In the second half, it was ALL Colonels. The offensive line was amazing. They were blowing the Ryle d-line 5 yards off the line every play. The o-line gave Marty 5 yards every run, and then he gained 10+ by making the backers miss. Everything was between the tackles too, nothing on the edge. He ended up with over 170 yards rushing, 4 rushing TDs, and 1 TD reception. Bricking had one of his best games of the year too. He was spreading the ball around, and not staring down his receivers. He looked very good tonight. Detmer was, well, Detmer. He made a great diving catch at the goaline and a very nice punt return. Defensively, the d-line dominated the line in the second half, and by the offense taking the lead, it forced Ryle to throw, which lead to a couple INTs. It's the best game I've seen from Dixie this year (missed the CCH game), and I came away very impressed. This game was truly won in the trenches, but it was a GREAT game by all. Congrats to all the Dixie boys!!! :thumb:

Yes , we know . Buckley and Van sant are back now ! Most of the Boys have played together or against each other for years ! You know us and we know you , there will be alot of BLOOD , SWEAT , AND TEARS on that field for sure ! It'll be a WAR !!! :thumb:

8 passes? Was the run working all the way down the field until they got near the endzone? That's the only way I can picture 8 attempts.

I agree with what was already stated, Boone is the best 6A team in NKY and we all know now NKY 6A football is mediocre this year.

Not so much suprised with a Dixie win but I never would have guessed this big of a margin. I said it after the SK game, Dixie is a better team when they get away from being cute and really mix it up with Maloney toting the skin.

Looks like two teams heading in different directions. Ryle must get there act together in a hurry for the playoffs. Congrats to a Dixie team that seems to be peaking at the right time.

You misunderstood my point. It sounds like Dixie dominated. I was just trying to figure out why a team passes 8 times. Sounds like Dixie simply controlled the clock and when Ryle did pass, it didn't work. If you haven't passed all year, its tough to do when you need it.

Excelent win for Dixie. NKY 6A is crazy this year outside of Boone! Makes for fun and interesting games.

Great call Hopper!!! Does anyone know why Ryle replaced their starting nose tackle and linebacker for this game?

Regular Starting Nose tackle Bryan Hillacord had a knee injury in the Boone game and is out for the rest of the season. Ryles second Linebacker Ben Chapman is playing a little more fullback.
